How often do you get prostate exams?

In fairness, the article you linked says nothing specifically about PSA levels. It mentions symptoms of BPH being reduced, but not PSA levels one way or the other.

But, when I did google "CIALIS PSA LEVELS" I found this: Which Medicines Affect PSA Levels? | eHow

Specifically states that viagra and cialis don't affect PSA levels one way or the other. There wasn't much information out there, but I could find nothing at all that supported the statement that Cialis lowers PSA. I found many mentions of its effects on BPH, but that was it.

Did you mean to say that Cialis affects BPH instead of saying it will "drop your PSA like a rock" or is there simply a study that I can't find with my searches?

I have used Cialis for a long time primarily for its health benefits. It does help with BPH by relaxing the muscles around the prostate and by dilating the blood vessels throughout the body. This is also how it helps to lower BP. Its good stuff.

When I was about 55, my long-time pcp, a woman, told me that it was time that I had "the test." I reluctantly agreed but told her that I regarded this procedure as an episode of Star Trek because she was going when no man had gone before.
And she said "boldly."
What a great doc.

Did you read the following? it is very clear.

Three PDE5 inhibitors, sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis) and vardenafil (Levitra) are clinically approved and are widely used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. A retrospective analysis determined that men treated with PDE5 for ED had less chance of having prostate cancer. This population of men had significantly lower documented diagnosis of elevated prostate-specific antigen and higher percentage of benign prostatic hyperplasia compared to men not treated with PDE-5 inhibitors (Chavez et al., 2013)

Im sorry I am not trying to be mean, but most of you guys don't understand how a study should be interpreted. Just because a study doesn't show something it doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't happen, it can also mean they didn't notice or document it. Usually I can show you 2 studies that contradict each other in almost every single area of research.

Studies are great, but most of the time, until many studies are done in a specific area of research, they only show part of the story.

Most guys here condemn anything that is not in a study, and that does more harm than good.

Experience and user reports are the most valuable.

Remember, a good semi-objective indicator of prostate hypertrophy is difficulty going pee pee. Tadalafil helps those muscles relax, so it's supposed to help. There's even a study that shows that cialis increased Testosterone/Estradiol ratio. Test went up, E2 went down. What the scientisst couldn't confirm was whether it was from the increased sexual activity or from the phosphodioterase inhibition and cAMP stuff.

On a funnier note, my gf's dad claims scans show his prostate is the size of a grapefruit. He's 60. Something else that he told me that was extremely interesting; Back in the 50's women used to get estrogen as medication when they were pregnant because doctors believe it helped prevent misscarriages or something. Turns out this estrogen exposure in the womb has permanent, long term effects on the fetus and even on the fetus' offspring. Some scary shit. Epigenetics they call it. Lets see....the drug is called Diethylstilbestrol. "Exposed males may have a greater likelihood of being left-handed than unexposed males.[44]" The guy is left handed. Crazy shit man....

I love Cialis, it's one of my favorite drugs. The only down side I have found is long term erections. The ad says "see a doctor for erections lasting more than four hours". I would be going to the doctor every day. I have erections that last all night sometimes. It makes nocturnal urination difficult. I have also heard that it may affect eyesight in certain individuals. Viagra gives everything a blue glow for a few hours after. I've never had a problem with Cialis but I do worry about build-up in my system since it has a 17.5 hour half life. I am taking the cautious route by using 5on and 2off each week.

It's a very mild drug with positive effects on blood pressure, arterial/venous health, and BPH symptoms. Don't worry about it too much.
