how to eat properly guys i suck at diet

sounds like some sort of bulking carb cycle would be great for someone at 17% if their willing to go slow and steady

Your on the money there!

And zilla not all my clients do cardio far out from show. Actually usually cardio doesn't start till about 8 weeks out. Less if the body allows. But I do start cutting out a minimum of 16 weeks out.

I hate cardio lol, I dont know what it is about cardio indoors but I hate it, dont mind wakiig outside but in the gym I just wanna lift weights lol

There are a ton of variables. Only an experts eye could filter what's necessary and what is not.

Not taking about the op but ssomebody in general that has pumped iron here and there but stands at 17% bf with hardly any muscle to trim down to look good, ya know what I mean bro?, I worded it wrong before
But at 6' tall I am hoping he hasnt used gear before weighing 160lbs

Hmm...overall I'm just not a fan of any sort of cardio for contest prep because its fat burning benefits will never equal the deficit created by your diet & it eats into recovery time.
Cardio will be, at best, an hour of calories burnt per day while diet is 24hrs - over the period of a cut the diet always has a bigger impact in bf% loss.
I'm not some complete anti-cardio dude - I do recommend it on maintenance because it obviously has well documented health benefits.

I've also seen some coaches (not you thankfully) take the cardio to the extreme, which causes unnecessary metabolic slowdown.
For example: telling a small female figure competitor to do 2 hours of LISS cardio per day & eat only 800 calories is plain stupid - yet these people are still, unfortunately, employed in our industry.

Edit: hopefully a few members here are reading this convo between us and picking up some good advice :)

I believe a combination of both which a high caloric intake works better. You obviously would have to lower the calories then I would.

But I digress. There are many philosophies out there. The best you can do is find one and see if it works. That means sticking to it for a while.

If you are talking about the average Joe I would see how the bulk would be shorter and leaner. But if you want to step in stage it takes some higher level bulking which involves some fat gain. Watching the before and afters of my clients you will see where they were, much higher than 15 percent and where they end up. My clients place at just about every show for a reason.

Shorter cut means faster cut too. I know you're into higher caloric deficits for cuts. That goes against all my logic. But to each his own.
Damn bro, they get as high as 20% or above 3j
But I guess why they start there cut 20 weeks or more out huh

Start your cut 16 to 20 weeks out. Lose 1 to 2lbs a week. Works like a charm my friend. Of course it's much more complicated than that but that's the Jiff of it.

I'm currently carb cycling and how I lay it out its

2 low carb days ( carbs for first meal about 50g then 25g pre/post )
1 medium carb ( 50g 1st meal, 25 pre, 50 post
2 low carb (see step one)
1 high carb ( 75g breakfast , 50g all other meals or more)
Repeat

That's looking more like a Ckd then a carb cycle.
