How to reach that hard solid muscle

So I've been hitting the gym for about 2 years now and I can't seem to get my skin structure to be hard like I have a buddy who by the touch feels like a rock ... Is it because I have a mesomorph body or are there other AAS that can help me accomplish that hard feeling as oppose to that soft feel .. Thanks in advance

genetics , like a LOT of black guy in my friends got 5% bf, only lean hard muscles , and gain really fast muscles while eating shit , smoking weed and partying all night , that's the life

yeah genetics.. some drugs can change that though... but when you get off I'm pretty sure it goes back to old stage

2 years is not a long time. you gotta be realistic with your goals. as you put on more muscle and lose more fat, youll get the hardness. don't look towards aas just yet man. you might have some subq fat to get rid of. maybe try dieting for a while then clean bulking

If you are talking about fat, genetics CAN'T stop you losing fat. Energy has to come from somewhere, and if fat is all you got, fat is what you burn. You can go on losing fat right up until you die from starvation.
If you jusy mean how hard the actual muscle is...Maybe your friend only lets you touch him when he has a pump? Or maybe blood pressure plays a part..I have no idea on that, but it sounds like it should be true. Maybe even the percentage of the differnt types of muscle fiber..

I don't really want to get into this debate again, but I can't help myself when I see this oversimplification.
The body doesn't automatically burn fat. It can and does also metabolize muscle tissue and even internal organs. To what degree it does these things depends on hormonal factors which are partly genetic. If your metabolism is sufficiently out of whack you can die of starvation without having lost your fat.

Diet, genetics, and muscle maturity, the longer you spend training the harder your muscles will become, the more dense they will get and the more striations they will have. Once youve achieved some maturity and a good diet there are anabolics that will amplify the hard, grainy, dense look, but by no means will they give you this on their own.

I know what you are talking about. You mean when you flex say a bicep it might look great, look defined and look hard but when you or someone touches it (squeezes) it just isn't a hard, extremely hard rock like some guys. I think I'm correct here.

Others have told you correctly. Genetics, diet and years training. Either or all.

I am 62 and I am a rock per say. I am an ectomorph and lean. I found that now days to get that hardness I have to train for mass 6-8 reps failure and past. "Overload" 3 to 4 working sets for that mass. Then I have to at least once a week after the working sets I have to do giant sets of high, very high reps and get that ugly painful burn, again and again. Reps 20,25,even 30 but remember this is not for mass building.

Now then you must incorporate a lean diet. Drinks lots of water all the time anyway, but remember water in equals water out and that good thing. The rest is unfortunately genetics. You may never achieve the density you want but you can have the look and the size. That's my take on this . Good luck.

I want to add. That when I was competing long ago. I would do low test and high Winstrol.
For me that was 300- 400mg test wk and 100mg ED injectable and true pharm grade. But remember OI also trained as I described below and the rep sets hardened me w/diet.

Well, yeah, it's a simplification, but pretty much anyone can get more shredded than the average guy in the street. And yeah, you break down muscle tissue as well....it makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint. But I'd think your body would naturally want to save your internal organs for dessert. Then again, we are kind of overriding nature by packing on a lot of muscle in the first place. Survival of the fittest doesn't mean the guy with the largest pecs. Anyway...I'm only trying to get a cross a simple version of what we currently understand to be the general idea. First thing you learn at med school: Half of what you learn here will turn out to be wrong.
