How to tell for sure if abcess or not?

Stupid question guys. Is it possible to get an abscess 3 inches from where the injection was?

I got hit in the ass with a frying pan (dont ask) and I'm trying to figure out if the lump I have is from the hit or an abcess.

Shouldn't the abcess appear exactly where the injection was?

The lump is about half the size of a baseball, it's painfull but it doesn't feel hot to the touch and I don't have a fever. It swelled up a little today, and my last injection was 4 days ago.

probs just pip, i am running super sustanon 300 and get pip all the time bro, and usually lasy 3-4 days
