I am in need of some HCG advice!

I have been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for four weeks now and could not be happier with the changes it has made in my life, I honestly feel like life is a pleasure and can't wait to become active again! I have felt so tired, sluggish and run down for so long that I forgot that life was worth living (no I never had thoughts of ending things) just had no desire to do anything, depression is a bitch!

I am pretty happy with my doctor thus far but he has not once mentioned HCG or any other treatment to keep my body from shutting down it's own production of Test. I am 41 years old and do not have any children, not married and really don't have any plans to have children but shouldn't I atleast need my body to continue producing what little Test it did?

Should I bring HCG up with my doctor tomorrow at my weekly appointment or is there another medication I should ask about?

Thanks In Advance!

You don't need your body to produce test anymore. You are getting all through injections.

HCG will keep you testicles plump and many say it gives them a sense of "well being". But if you don't want children, you may not want to incur the extra cost. It can also complicate estrogen management. It may also be hard to get your insurance to pay for it.

For full disclosure, I don't take Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), but lots of guys on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) do and swear by it.

hCG plays an important role in the body besides preventing testicular atrophy.

Do a search for the thread that Austinite wrote. Its a comprehensive article and touches on all the different benefits hCG provides for the human body.

At least a converstaion to bring up with doctor. But heres my thoughts I am 30 and on it so I will be up front. From everything I have read its main purpose to is help maintain sperm production. Secondary and from what I can gather is there is some evidence to this, but not proof so it remains a theory or theories, but that is keeping your nuts closer to normal size and creating well being.

The reason I am on it due to fertility issues which is has brought me from being really on the low scale to perfectly normal while I try and have kids. For me I do not feel a difference in feeling or size of my balls. It has raised my test count, but raising my TRT dose about 30-40mg a week did the same thing.

The problems with Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a lot of docs see it as fertility only and will only want you on it for a limited time, and insurance you will be lucky if they even look at covering, which I pay $86 for a 10000IU vial which last about 10 weeks. Which roughly makes for a $30 a month script. Then add in the extra time and effort of doing it in your regimen, plus all the extra needle jabs. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) can also add in estrogen problems, which I have been lucky it really hasnt but I do feel it gives me mood swings at times. Add in estrogen problems, you now need an anti estrogen. Which means you went from one need a week in taking Test, to now taking 3-5 needles a week with test and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), plus a couple pills a week.

So really in the end Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) could be beneficial for you, but are you going to be any better off in the end state with just taking test? That is the question.

I am not against Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and I think it works for fertility, but I see no added benefits beyond that. Maybe for some, but is it placebo, who knows. And at your age if kids are done, I wouldnt worry about it.
