In your opinion what is the best exercise for the back ?

i can already tell you that deadlifts/rack-dead and barbell/tbar row responses will dominate this thread.

I also like rack chins, but are too big of a PITA to do without a partner so i dont really do them.
 
rows\deadlift variations for back thickness and pulldown variations for back width--this is my opinion.
 
deadlifts, rack deads, rows /pull ups (weighted)in that order
