Injecting Yourself Lefty (Bloodshed!)

Doing the TRT thing
I'm right handed and I had to inject myself left-handed today.

...Because my right ass cheek was still black and blue from 2 weeks ago when the nurse fucked up my injection and moved the needle around too much.

So I had to inject with my un-coordinated shaky left hand and I got it... But drew a good deal of blood when the needle came out.

My hand was shaking a little after the needle was in and I really couldn't control it because I had to reach back at an awkward angle.

The black and blue on my right side is about halfway healed it looks like. Still some discoloration but it doesn't hurt. It's about 2-3 inches in diameter so it covers my injection spot pretty well.

Would you guys have injected through it anyway?

... Or done it with the shaky wobbly left hand like I did?

(By the way I don't have anyone who I trust with a needle to do this for me.)

I'm hoping 2 weeks from now my right side will be cleared up. But if not I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

I NEVER inject in to a bruise. I can't confirm this but my opinion is there's less efficient blood flow to the bruised area due to the trauma that caused the bruise, the bruising itself and swelling.

Here's a better idea, try your thighs! You can reach both thighs with your right hand (I do it!) and you can clearly see everything!

On the note of drawing blood, did you properly aspirate? You want to make sure you do that to avoid pinning a vessel. On that note, you could have pinned THROUGH a vessel. You wouldn't draw any blood during aspiration (I don't think) but it would bleed once you pulled the needle back out.

I have a low back injury and just trying to turn around seems way too complicated to try and pin my ass safely so I just use the legs. I can use your biceps with a much smaller needle and pecs/traps as well. (I'd avoid there if you don't have much muscle). I'm considering my calves, I'd just have to look in to it further.

Are your injections spaced two weeks apart? That seems really off to me, I only met one doctor that RX'd them that way. Every other is queue weekly (same time once a week)

I always rotate...

If the site feels sore/bruised from the last inject I skip it.

Thighs/quads are nice to throw into the rotation but can hurt like a mofo till you find the "sweet spot". My sweet spot on my quad is high to the outside....

Yea I have a lot of medical friends, nurses and medics in the military. I also found a diagram on google. You're supposed to use the middle third of the outside of the thigh. I went so far as just a few inches shy of my knee and struck the nerve on each leg lol. I also grazed a nerve or something on my left thigh a little too close to the front side of my thigh. That was by far the worst injection pain I've ever felt. Other than that, no other pains.

I've hit nerves in my quad before. Kinda neat to see it twitch uncontrollably... Scared me the first time it happened. I yanked the needle out...now I just push through it.

Yea man the first time I grazed that nerve it just hurt like fucking hell. I pinned the nerve later near the knee and it twitched once and I continued. The third time it jerked really bad, must have poked it right in the center. I pulled it out and tried again. I heard it's not a great idea to continue with the injection...oils can aggravate nerves and the needles can cause scarring. Something you don't want on nerves.

Uhhhhh yeah... From what you guys are telling me I don't think I'll be injecting in my leg if there's a chance of me hitting a nerve like that. I'll stick with my ass lol.

Quad are by far the easiest place to pin. As mentioned already, you pin either one with your good hand and no twisting and turning involved...

I pin quads and delts only.

Once you try it, it'll probably be your favorite spot.

Come on bro!

Uhhhhh yeah... From what you guys are telling me I don't think I'll be injecting in my leg if there's a chance of me hitting a nerve like that. I'll stick with my ass lol.

Dude, just pin your right quad high and to the outside in the meatiest portion of it, and you'll be fine. Don't be a weenie.

When I did my first cycle I was nervous as hell about injecting. I remember the first time i pinned myself my hand was shaking like crazy and I was sweating like a bitch. I look back now and laugh at it but at the time it was nerve racking! I've never pinned a quad, but the vets on the board say it is one of the most preffered locations.
