inner chest, cross cable question

need to build my inner chest up.
Ive started doing cross over cables(pulley up high, on both sides)
-but when i do this..how am I supposed to be contracting my muscles?
is it simialr to the way I do a bench press, like a downward punching motion?
- or is it more like a Fly/pec deck motion, a sweeping motion?

i like the cable cross. you can use the peck deck as well. as for the cc, i pull foward and down, at the same time sweeping inward across the mid section-mid chest region. the cc is a good finish to your chest routine imo.
