I was wondering if i made the right choice to start off in the medical field which is Medical Assistant. I heard from some people who had graduated from the program that it is hard to find a job.
Is medical assitant a way to start in the medical field?

depends what you want to do. medical field is a big field. i wouldn't recommend being a medical assistant, but it all depends on your goals.

I am a medical assistant and i love my job. I earn really well i work with a high end dermatologist and right now im going to school for nursing. If you want to make quick money i would recommend being a medical assistant but if you are not in need of money at the moment, maybe living with your parents or have someone to cover the bills just go straight to nursing. Good luck hun medical field is a great choice
dude dont do it.. if your going into the med career go all the way.. it will be such a pain in the ass if u stop somewhere like (MA = the VERY beginning//LPN = barely above MA) At least go for the Nursing Degree, than u can sit back earn some cash and decide whether you want to stay a nurse, or get your Masters and challenge the board for your PA license. PA is the way to go btw ;]

I went EMT then Medic.. I have a good job as a medic. But now I am going to go to nursing.. Good thing is because I am a Medic I can just go into a bridge program for nursing.
What you need to do is look at what your career goal is. Mine is to be a anesthetist nurse. Good thing the except medics or I would have wasted a good part of my schooling. so dont just jump into sometiung quick if you have a long term goal, unless it helps you with that goal.

Yep, now I just gotta dothe Medic to Nursing lol... From my understanding it should be pretty easy for a Medic with Exp. I just dont wanna give up my schedule of 24 on 48 off. But 4 days on 3 off isnt so bad either. Besides to much politics right now in florida with my career.

Im gonna dry my pussy real quick and admit that I have to many dicks where I work. To many Wannabe Alpha Males. Its not that Im a Beta Male.. Im more like a "We all have the experience to do what we gotta do and save lives" Male. Fuckin to many Rescue Randy's and guys who think they are Holyier then Thou. They think they are the Alpha's and realy they are just douche bags. Plus again the Politics just suck ass. I miss the actual brotherhood and enjoying your work family. Healthcare is a strong field period. Nursing has the best line of promotion.
1 year = LPN
2 years = RN
3-4 years = BSN
then you can get you Master's, Doctorate, Nurse Practitioner,or CRNA ($150k per year!!!)
a lot of the highest paid nurses don't even do nurse work anymore, they are administrators etc.
Also, you can get a job anywhere, anytime for good money, and a signing bonus! Many employers will pay for you school also.
