Is my estrogen to low ???????

She told me they were checking for iron which I'm guessing is same thing ? I thought hemoglobin had to do with to many red blood cells or something ? She said I was fine.

Pretty much.

Hemoglobin is a protein molecule in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and returns carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs.

The majority of your body's iron is found in your red blood cells called hemoglobin as well as in muscles cells called myoglobin.

Hemoglobin is not a full count of your red blood cells, hematocrit or anything like that.

If you have too low a level they will not let you donate.

Thanks bro ! This is why I love this site. Well that's funny cause I had my bloods drawn a few weeks ago and it was high which is why I was donating blood in the first place. But like you said its not a full count. Glad they basically let me slide by.

High hemoglobin most likely indicates thats your RBC is too high although the test only measures how much of your blood is made up of hemolobin, the carier of oxygen.

Next time you go get blood work get them to specifically check for RBC and HCT. These are what you want to keep you eye on. Mainly HCT.

HCT (Hematocrit) is the % of your blood that is RBC. The higher it gets the thicker your blood gets. This is not a good things as it can cause blood clots leading to stokes and so on. This is why you must keep an eye on this.

My hemoglobin was at 18.0, a bit high. I can't recall my hct. I'd have to look that bak up but they said that was high as well. I was told to give a pint of blood. Going to retest just the hct soon to see if I'm normal again.

Hematocrit results are given in a percentage. Optimal for a male is 45%. Once you start nearing 50% and over it is not good. You can donate every 56 days so do so.

I cant recal if you on TRT or not but if you are then do it as often as possible. If you cycle on and off then once exogenous hormones are discontinued your bone marrow will stop producing extra red blood cells.

The reason we produce more red blood cells when on AAS is because
they shut down a hormone signal in the kidneys which tells the bone marrow to STOP producing cells.

Wow, did not know all that. Thank you for sharing bro. Yes I'm on trt, only for bout 6 months though. I've been cycling before that for bout 5 years. This is my first year doing the blast n cruise and I'm loving the results. So I'll go what like once a month you think ?

Once a month to donate blood?

You are allowed to donate every 56 days. While on cycle, I would but might lower the frequency if you werent on cycle. Blood test will tell you whats up and when you should be going. Some people natually produce more RBC. You dont want RBC HCT and Hemoglobin dropping too low either. So like always stated....bloodwork :)
