I've been going through hell, I need your help!

Hello everyone, I've been on T-Therapy for the 9 months. I was diagnosed with low-t because I was on anti-depressants and I didn't know that at that time it effected my libido(the psychiatrist was out of country). Anyways, my levels were around the normal range now that I look at it. I've lost over 120 lbs as well and I was told that the t-therapy would help with my loose skin and help me get through the weight loss phase were my body was completely fatigued and over-trained. I made the biggest mistake of my life, the t-therapy helped me and I've noticed a major change in my body and my energy.

The first 4-5 months were great, and then the clinic that I was going to changed my doctors and it relocated. My levels kept getting back at 1400(I'm sorry I don't have my charts on me right now) So, fast forward I was due for a blood draw and I was expected my meds three weeks prior and I ran out, so I got tested and the clinic kept screwing up the orders so I got it late. My levels came back at 200, and the doctor decided to give me 1ml of T-Cyp twice for the next couple of weeks. After that, I noticed that my hair started thinning like crazy, it's been like that for the last four weeks. I freaked the hell out, and I wanted to cut everything cold turkey. I also, noticed one of my testicles shrinking.

I started having panic attacks and I started having major anxiety issues. I've been also having teste pain, and I went to a urologist to get it checked and I had an ultrasound. I still have those pain come and go as I take the t-short.

I requested my charts to get sent to my old doctor and I went back to him, he kept telling me that if I did a blood draw right now, it won't tell me anything and that I had to be on t for a month to decide whether I should get off or not. I want to get off of it as soon as possible, before I end up loosing my hair. I also want to get back to normal, because I'm leaving the country around December for a good while and the country I'm going to doesn't have any t-therapy and they won't approve of the meds. I was told at that time, that I can get off of the t whenever I wanted as long as I got clomid. Now, I'm on around 160 mg per week of Cyp.

I want to get on climid as soon as possible, I also want to get a fertility check. I've been noticing side effects of slight gyno recently, I talked to the doctor and he told me that the blood test won't help him at all. I'm just so frustrated that I'm not getting my blood tested because I think the clinic is being cheap, since insurance doesn't cover the blood draw and the package only includes 4 a year. I'm heading to the doctor's office and I'm going to tell him that I want to get off asap and I can't risk any hairloss and I'm willing to deal with the withdrawals.

Would the hairloss stop once I get off? I understand it's trigged by genetics, but I would rather loose it in the long run rather than how it's been shedding so quick. I don't want to be on propecia, and I don't want to risk taking any more meds. I've been so paranoid and just feeling really depressed, because I got myself in a situation where I now have learnt from. I made a mistake and I know now, I hope that I can benefit from this rather than suffer. Is there any advice guys, I need your help. Is the hairless temporary because of the spike of t those couple of weeks? I really appreciate the help in advance.

Also, I haven't taken any of my last recommended two shots at each of cyp(.13cc each day) Would that hurt? I just don't feel comfortable taking any more until I get the clomid(hopefully in a day or two)

Can you please break that post into paragraphs so it is easier to read? Ibwoukd like to help, but I can bear to read your post like that.

If you are having panic attacks and anxiety we have no where your estradiol is?
If you go on clomid it may (or may not)make things worse in that department.

First off thank you guys for your replies and help... God knows how much it means. The damn doctor is saying that if I get blood tested right now it won't do me no good.

He says I have to be back on t for one more month til I can get results that would tell him what's going on. I don't know whether that's true or not but I'm not comfortable being on t unless I get tested. They're trying to charge me 800 bucks for a full blood panel. Theyre saying if I get mine now I will loose my last blood draw that's with the yearly package.

I agree that getting blood work right now won't tell you much because you have been changing your TRT protocol so frequently in the last month or two. Given that you have not taken an injection for two weeks you are very likely at hypogonadal levels again. No wonder you don't feel very good.

It sounds like you were not managing estradiol while you were on TRT. That is what causes the majority of problems for most guys on TRT.

Were you donating blood regularly to keep your hematocrit from getting too high?

Of course your testicles shrunk. You were taking exogenous testosterone which causes your natural production to shut down. You should have been warned about this by your doctor.

Taking testosterone can accelerate hair loss. Not much you can do about that. Some guys try using Nizoral shampoo.

You should not have gone on TRT with hopes of getting off it. You go on for TRT for life. After having your HPTA shut down for 9 months it will be very hard to get it restarted again. I am not saying it is impossible. Clomid and hCG, if used in the proper protocol, may get your restarted again. But there are no guarantees. Don't get me wrong -- give it a try. But be aware that it often does not work.

Finally, look at my signature below. You can get your own blood work without going through a doctor very easily and it is cheap. Use the Privatemdlabs one since it is cheaper and your TT will be under 1500ng/dl. You should have the result back in 24 hours.

One more thing. Read the Basic TRT Overview sticky thread in this forum. That will give you a better understanding of TRT.

Thanks for the reply and information I really appreciate it. The doctor had me get back on 125 mg a week right now he still keeps telling me that I can recover once I ge off and TRT isn't for life. At last he was saying I could recover and a month won't hurt.

I Shouldn't of been on trt like you said at the first place they persuaded me by telling my levels were low and I swear I was never told I had to be on it for the rest of my life. It's so frustrating thats why I want to get on clomid and hcg. I should of done more research and I never donated any blood. Thanks for the info I'll have a look at it.

He's wrong!!!!
TRT is not for a month. Find a new doc that knows what he is doing with the HPTA. Not a doc that turns the HPTA on/off like a light switch to temporarily treat a problem that needs long term commitment.
He should have you on HCG as well.

man im sorry to hear all this bro. It's sickening to hear these trt horror stories. They happen so often it seems. I'm glad i chose to go through a trt clinic rather than my GP. I've always thought doctors knew everything and always listened to them until my recent pursuit of trt. I was baffled by the ignorance i saw by multiple doctors. If money is not an issue, and your restart is unsuccessful, i would consider using an out-of-pocket trt clinic because they specialize in trt and trt only. They will get you feeling great in no time. I don't think it's the trt in general that is making you feel like shit, i think it's the hormonal rollercoaster your doc has put you on. With the right protocol and proper estradiol control, trt can make you feel amazing.

i also notice that when i go from a higher t level to a lower t level i start to lose more hair.. on cycle i dont lose hair.. at the end of cycle into pct i start shedding like a husky.. i think it has soemthing to do with the rate of conversion from test to dht when youre test dramatically drops.. im not the expert on the matter.. maybe rip can chime in

Hey guys quick update, so I've tried finding other doctors to talk to you. And I've found this Medical Doctor who's been treating TRT for a while. He told me that I could just run HCG pct and I shouldn't worry about Clomid unless I'm expecting to have kids soon.

He seems like he knows his stuff, he took my blood test and I'm expecting to get them back by the end of the day and talk to him about my exit strategy. He recommended that I would maintain using HCG so I can restore my levels to the normal range and then ween off, he's open for other options.

I also talked to my sister and she's a doctor and she did some research and said the same thing. Please educate me if there is anything wrong with this exit strategy and why would clomid be important?

Thank you guys, you've been loads of help.

hCG is suppressive to your HPTA. If your testicles have atrophied it is good to run hCG to restore their size. Once that is accomplished, Clomid should be run to help get your pituitary working again.

All this is assuming you do not have Primary Hypogonadism.

Thanks for the response Megatron, I really appreciate it. Would it matter if I ran Clomid later in the future to recover my pituitary running again? Or does it have to be exactly PCT?

Much love guys, thanks again. I've been feeling better emotionally, at least at easy.

I don't understand your question. Can you ask it a different way?

Sorry English is not my first language, what I was trying to say is that if I wanted to get my sperm count higher would running Clomid later work? Or do I have to exactly run it as I am coming off of TRT? The doctor was saying that HPTA shouldn't be shutdown as I am young and the clinic that I was misdiagnosed because I had my levels around 550 prior to TRT.

Also, I got my levels back the doctor told me that everything seemed fine, my t levels are at 800 right now. He recommended that I would do HCG daily at 150 iu for the next two weeks, and then get blood tested again. Does that sound like a reasonable plan?

I want to maintain as much muscle mass, and I don't want to lose what I've gained throughout the last 9 months. I'm eating around 2800 calories a day and I'm at 40 Carbs 40 Protein 20 Fat on my workout days, and 40 Protein 30 fat 30 carbs on my days off.

Thank you

Of course your HPTA is shut down. You have been taking exogenous testosterone for 9 months. You body stopped making its own testosterone about 9 months ago. You shut down very quickly. If you want to come off TRT, you should help your body try to turn its natural testosterone production immediately. There is no advantage to waiting. As soon as the exogenous testosterone clears your system you should begin your restart. And prior to that you should consider running a course of hCG.
