Just got diagnosed with hypogonadism and hypothyroid

Hello all I have read around the forum a bit but this is my first time posting. Sorry for the long post. I am 18 years old and was just diagnosed with hypogonadism and hypothyroid. My testosterone levels were 310 in the morning and 200 in the evening. My TSH level is 11.6. I got tested because I started noticing symptoms heavily. My mom also has hypothyroid, so that is genetic. As for the low test, I think it is cultural as my ethnic background is indian. Anyway, I was obese at 220 pounds till 2 years ago when I started losing weight. I am now a healthy individual, but losing weight and putting muscle has always been hard for me. Ok so on to my questions. I went to see my endo for the first time a few days ago, and he wants to wait for me to get my thyroid levels up before prescribing me gel as he wants to make sure that is not causing it. Here are my problems.

1. First of all he said that he only prescribes gel and that shots give unstable levels (even though ive read about multiple weekly injections).
2. I asked him about T3 for my thyroid and he completely blew it off and said that T4 is the better way to go without giving me any input
3. This is a question about cycling in the future or even in the near future. Once I get my levels stablized, is it unadvisable for me to start cycling? The main reason I see people tell 18 year olds not to cycle is because of the impact it has on natural test. But if I am getting synthetic, doesn't that eliminate this? Also, can cycles be done efficiently with gel trt?
4. Is it reccomended and wise that I find a more open minded endo? He treated me like I was dumb basically and didn't take into account anything that I had to say. After reading, I really don't feel comftorable relying on a gel for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) especially because I have read that thyroid can block absorbtion due to the thick and dry skin (which I have). Also I really don't want ot risk something like that as I am at the point where the depression and mood swings have me suicidal at times. I have read about doctors on this forum doing online treatment for others. Is this reccomended?

Thank you so much for anyone that reads and takes the time to help me out.
Sincerely, an 18 year old seeking help

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently 5'9. Manlet haha. Also once thing I forgot to mention was that he said he would be willing to prescribe Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) to keep fertility.

Should probably get the thyroid taken care of and then go the testosterone route. Maybe call around or ask around for an open minded endo or one that is more knowledgable.

When I was trying to get all my testing done, my gp's co worker is an endo and he said he never gets estradiol or shbg checked on patients. I then found out later that this endo only really worked on diabetics and had no "knowledge" of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or proper testing.

Yeah I think that is the same with this doctor. All he did was ask for an extra blood work for my testosterone but he hasnt requested for my free t3 and free t4. also, he never mentioned anything about my free testosterone. Makes me skeptical. I think I was more angry at the fact that he straight out stated that he doesnt do shots.

Oops I just realized I forgot a few more details. I'm currently on 75 mg of levothyroid taking it once a day right upon waking. I haven't noticed anything from it except that I have more gas and the constipation seems to ease a bit which is really helpful. I've always had constipation I went to phoenix during fall break for 4 days and didn't crap till 2 days after I got back. and it was a small bowel movement too. I count my calories EVERY single day so I always get atleast 30g of fiber a day. I am really determined to get help I have fought depression a lot of my life but have never really opened up to it. I've never attempted suicide besides when Im on an empty road and go at really high speeds to try force a wreck. At this point, there is nothing I want more than to perfect my body. I live for it and think of it every day but it's hard to when I have a naturally slow metabolism and low testosterone at the age where it is supposed to be highest.

First of all, I think you meant you take 75mcg (micrograms) of Levothyroxine, not 75mg (milligrams). Correct? Otherwise you'd be taking 10 times the doseage I am. And BTW, I haven't noticed a damn thing from my 75mcg either.

Secondly, 5' 9" isn't a "Manlet". It's about average height. Nothing wrong with that.

Thirdly, don't strive for a perfect body. It doesn't exist. Just try to be the best you.

Lastly and most importantly, I applaud you for wanting to do whatever it takes to become healthy. You're not alone in this. Everyone in this forum is/was going through the same thing you're going through. Stick around and you'll get all the support you need. There's no better place you can find for true Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) discussion and advice. You'll get straightened out in short order and be well on your way to a happy and healthy life.

Oh...one more thing...please slow down while you're driving. It would be a terrible waste to give up just when you're so close to the finish line.

Brian

Thank you guys for the advice. And yeah my mistake it is 75 mcg. I was on 50 mcg before. I asked my endo about T3 but he completely brushed it off. And yeah I don't really mean the perfect body, but a body that I am after. The last 2 years I have completely dedicated my life to training. I eat right, count my calories, hardly eat out, the full works. and as an 18 year old it's really depressing to give up all that and still not see results. Also, I have struggled with obesity inn my life (220 pounds at 40% body fat as a junior in high school). I've been working on getting to the single digits the last few months but cutting is so hard because even during my bulks I hardly put on any mass. It's like a never ending cycle. I keep telling myself I dont have the genetics for bodybuilding but something keeps pushing me to strive towards it as though God is challenging me. I really hope I can fix me, I really feel as if this endo is going to waste my time and copay money

About the not crapping. Get some prune juice.

I have been constipated 1 time and I had abdominal pains and aches and it plain sucked. The wife bought me a 32 ounce bottle of prune huice and told me drinking it would make me crap. She didn't tell me how much to drink, so I chugged all 32 in an evening.

Don't do that....

Do they make sugar free Or diet prune juice? Having some prune juice would kill my macros for the day.

And also bringing back a question from the first post what do you guys thinkout cycling once my levels are regulated? Let's say estimating about the age of 19? I really do want to if ita advisable because I want to make up for some of the natural muscle mass that I haven't been able to build due to the deficiencies. Even when I was really big i didn't have the strength or muscle that most bigger guys get let alone not even the muscle of the scronny kids. I have some decent strength and done size now but not as much as I feel I should

My suggestion is to get thyroid figured out first. TSH does NOT tell the whole story.

Get thyroid to healthy levels, then retest testosterone after a few months.

You shouldn't worry about cycling until you get everything else corrected.

How is your diet?

Diet is pretty good I weight out and count my calories every day I'm cutting at about 2k right now. I try to stay with a 40p/20f/40c macro ratio but it normally turns out about 30p/20f/50c. I always get enough protein and fiber. and yeah thats what my endo plans to do. I think I may try to switch to Maximum after reading everything I've read so far about it. My endo seems clueless and it seems they will do anything to make me go for a visit just to milk some money out
