Kk,

i tried searching around abit and found a few articles of keto diets and i get the idea . But there are different from eachother and its something i might wanna try if its really that effective.

Basically, i see that they are very low carbs diets and ive read that its recommended to intake 30-50g of carbs a day only . Lower then usual protein intake and high fat . And can eat any kinds of fats . Also after workout u need an excellent protein source (whey shake probably) and no fats after workout (i workout at 8:00 pm and later.

Ive been on very good diets since november now and things are going ok .. i believe they can be better... dropped 8 % body fat till now and wish to lose another 8% im at 19-20 % bf now .
Am i on the right track ?:)

Dude, I personally tried the keto diet recently as a way to drastically cut fat. That diet straight up blows if you have any interest in lifting weights or tying your shoes for that matter. I felt like a bag of low quality meat the first week. Even a little of the wrong veggie can throw you out of ketosis too. Maybe you're looking for the Dan Duchaine type bodyopus diet? ...only the brave survive that one.

from what I understand, most people (bodybuilders) don't attempt Keto until they're trying to dip down in the single digits.

just my opinions.

dont agree with this.. it might be that you personally have a hard time with keto.. iv had clients who havn't had anything close to a hard time.. i have one who just lost 15lbs in one month on keto.. u just gotta do it right

Well i dont know much about keto but i will agree with u on one thing.... Just reading what they eat made me feel like a big piece of oily meat:)

I feel like i can do this diet .. ive been doing something like dtones 1st week diet of 25 day 25 pound diet. I slightly modified that but my carbs are low .

From what i read, that first week of his diet looks like it can be easily modified to keto if u can help me :)

Should i post the 1st week again and maybe u can fix it up for me to be a good keto diet?

Thanks ,

I have been using keto for the past 3 weeks and dropped about 15lbs. I have been lifting 4-5 days a week and doing cardio 3-4 days a week. I do notice some strength loss but, I can still do what I did prior to the keto. Plus, I am lifting to loose fat not to gain strength at this time.

I do feel like crap the first few days of the diet but after that I feel awesome. Also if you choose low carb veggies you can add them in without throwing you out of ketosis.

Unfortunately diet is sort of trial and error, since different things work for different people. I tried different things for a year without seeing any results and then I tried keto and it works with amazing results. If your interested 3J can help you, he is very knowledgeable about diets. And I can help if you need recipes or meal ideas as this is the 3rd keto cycle for me.

I also did D-tones diet and lost about 10lbs, but keto is a better diet for me because I am very carb sensitive.

I have ran several keto diets with great success. The only thing that bothers me is the food you can't eat. But one thing with a keto is once your body goes Ito ketosis. If you intake too many carbs your body kicks your ass right back out and you have to start all over. Not sure how accurate they are but I use keto strips. You pee o. Them and it tells you If your liver is producing ketones. When your body is In Ketosis it turns to adipose tissue for energy.

If you do it right it's a great way to drop bodyfat.

Yeah, don't get me wrong... I didn't say the diet doesn't work by any means. I just said it was hard - for me anyway. I really felt the adverse effects on my brain when I was trying to study for tests in college. And, like I said, I felt like crap most of the time. In fact, I used to smoke around four years ago and I would say the carbohydrate withdraw was more difficult than the nicotine withdraw. ... probably just me though.

It is hard, but it is worth it. I think the effects on studying are debatable. I maintained a 4.0 while running keto for about 40 weeks all together. If you can get through the first week or so, it gets better.

You're hardcore blondie. You sound like you have an iron will.

I feed my family adkins lifestyle..low carb but realistic. nobody is suffering and they don't think about the nutritional value of what I put in front of them..they just like the taste of it. If you are creative and careful with your grocery purchases, you can make great, low carb menus with moderate effort. Its not bad at all.

The only tough thing is resisting cravings of things that would blow your progress. the sugars, breads, and starches will ruin it. stay away from them. just don't keep these things in your house.
