hey, i just upped the weights on my leg ext's and brought it up quite a bit since I was finding it way too easy where i had it before, and needed a challenge as I am trying to spark massive growth. the problem is, My knees have been hurting from this, Im thinking as a result, but it doesnt always happen when i work legs, sometimes it will be out of the blue after a long day. I really don't want to do what I bet most of you are going to say(bring the weight back down a little) as I have taken it as an accomplishment, and it will hurt my ego to drop it down again. any thoughts on what it might be or how to cure it. it feels liek it is usually in the joint or right above at the attachment,and has a dull ache, almost like a growing pain kind of feeling.
 
i used to have the same problem bring the weight down:) if youre doing leg extensions you shouldnt be going that heavy anyway if it hurts your knees
the last thing anyone needs is to be injured because of an ego trip
 
Most knee problems are caused by an imbalance in the quads and the hamstrings.

Not a fan of leg extensions (especially not heavy ones) but box squats have been a God-send for my knees.

What was that quote you had about leg extensions? Something about it being a decent exercise if you attach a harness and drag it around, lmao.

Leg extensions are basically for developing and separating the 3 heads in the quad anyway. So there is no need to go real heavy on them because your overall "mass" comes from the squat/smith/and hack machines. So your ego can calm down now bro.. knowing you don't have to go real heavy with extensions.
 
Try MSM..that stuff has worked miracles for me as far as everyday aches and pains in my joints.. also..why are you doing leg extentions anyway????
 
Leg extensions absolutely kill my knees even with light weight. I hate those things.
