When i do leg presses at the bottom position(knees near chest)my heels come off the platform and i find myself pushing thru my feet(toes) rather than my heels on the first part of the lift. Is that ok, or does foot position(higher or lower) on platform help with this?
Pushing with toes will put strain on your knees. Try to keep your hips pushed right up against the back support. If youre coming down as far so that hips go forward and the back arches a lot of pressure is put on lumbar. Put your feet wherever feels most comfortable and you can come down as far as you can without hips/back leaving support.
My hips and back are firmly against the support so thats not the problem. It seems to me the angle of the platform doesnt allow my heels to remain on the platform in the bottom position. I understand that you NEED to push the heels, but its hard to keep them on. Maybe putting my toes off the top therefore my heels will be the only part on the platform???
