legs up on bench?

Sounds like it might dig into the feet pretty good(i deadlift barefoot)...but hey I'll give anything a try once. You might have said deadlifting on a balance board, which I've never done but I did squat on one once...just body weight which was hard enough.
 
Mixing it up any way you can (including legs up, legs way up crunching pos., swiss ball, etc) is a great idea to improve balance and stimulate muscular growth.

If you are benching for a contest, just do the bench, but for general chest size and balance it is fine.
 
There is definitely going to be a difference in training for strength and bodybuilding.

I have heard of some powerlifters occasionally doing swiss ball dumbell presses though.
