When I got my doctor to switch me from Testim to injectable cypionate, I was disappointed to learn from a local pharmacy that my insurance did not cover self-injectable testosterone, so I paid out of pocket for the vial. Including ten syringes, it came to 53 bucks. Two tubes of Testim per day had only cost me a 20 dollar co-pay per month. I called my insurance company and after speaking to several associates, I finally learned that I could order self-injectable cypionate through the special order pharmacy that bears the insurance company's name and have it sent directly to my house for no copay at all! Today, two bottles arrived, a 90 day supply. I guess they didn't want to split a 10ML bottle, so they just sent two. Even though my script is only for 125mg per week, I did the math, and they sent me 155mg per week in the 90 day supply. They even gave me a reorder date, so I can keep it coming at two vials every 90 days. Twenty syringes were also included. Cool.

I wrote my doctor a letter today and attached two of Dr. Chrysler's publications, hoping to convince him to write me a script for HCG. We discussed it during an office visit last week. He's a a super cool older guy and acted like he barely knew what Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is. If he won't prescribe it, I guess I'll see a specialist. I really hope he does though.

Finally, the handwritten prescription I used to purchase the first vial at the pharmacy out of pocket before I knew my insurance company would send it directly to me for free is good for one year right? Do you think anybody would find out if in due time I paid cash for another vial and just kind of stockpiled a little?

cool story.

As for your doc or insurance finding out if you bought other meds out of pocket from another vendor?...... no way that I can think of other than talking about it on here.

The following information only applies if you are in the U.S.

1) It is unlikely that you will be able to fill your prescription twice as 39 states have adopted prescription drug monitoring programs, which logs your information, the Dr's information, the date you last filled the prescription, the pharmacy you filled the prescription at, etc. This system is a STATE BY STATE system, so I doubt that they talk to each other since the DEA does not have their hands in this system. The only way that you would be able to double up the prescription is if you do not live in one of the states listed in this Q&A from the DEA's Website: Q&A - STATE PRESCRIPTION DRUG MONITORING PROGRAMS

2) Even if you do not, I would not recommend trying this because the prescription is from the same Doctor, and every Doctor is assigned a DEA tracking number, where the DEA can look at EVERY script they write that is dispensed. Its unlikely to cause trouble, but it could. The only way to pull it off safely is if you live in a state where there is no drug monitoring program AND you obtain a separate script from a different doctor and fill it at the pharmacy out of pocket.

Hope this helps.
