Long Arms-How Do I Add Overall Size?

scouser5

We've only won it 5 times
I am on week 7 of a 12week Test E cycle. I have added good mass and thickness to my body. I am 6ft 4' and always see my arms as being skinny. My bi's and tri's have developed on this cycle but when my arms are straight I feel paranoid that they are too skinny!

Weight-240
BF-14%

My reach is 30inches. I rarely train forearms.
Any tips on how to add overall size and gain a better size to the entire arm??

Anyone had this problem, any ideas??

You are probably going to feel you have skinny arms until you start sporting 20-21", when you see 23+ inchers with the pros who are way shorter you sometimes feel you are tiny.

You have to find what makes you grow. Try heavy base movements, JM presses, 2 arm overhead dumbell, skullcrushers, a set or two of pushdowns for a finisher... hammer curls, barbell curls, EZ bar... the crappy thing is you have to find what works for your body, try something different until it works and then try to keep it working.

Scouser bro it's been mentined to you a few times in the journal section. I believe some might feel like their whiping a tired horse with you and spinning their wheels.

You were going to try the 5x5 what happened?

Last I checked your last workout you were hitting chest/back same day benching and deadlifting the same day, dude c mon you know better. We showed you the 3 day routines in this section. If you don't believe us check out intensemuscle.com and see what the big boys do. There are pro BBers and pro atheletes on that site and ill let you quess whether they lift BBer style or PL style. Best of luck dude.

Yes listen to mudge to since your not listening to myself or the milkman

Big bench either flat, incline or decline not all three more is not better, lots of warm-ups with one, then 2-3 cores 3-5 reps followed by 3 sets at 10 reps of JM Press has put my arms back in the 19-20 range.

D-love, I have been listening to you and Milk. I am on the 5x5 and LOVING IT!!
What you saw in the journal was a 3 day summary rolled into one entry, sometimes the days are not highlighted well enough. I have never done chest & back on the same day. I am currently on a de-load week. I just wanted to get some ideas on arm work for long arms.

Since incorporating the 5x5 my lifts have sky rocketed!!!!! I was, up until deload week uping the weight each week. Hope you see that I value your advice D! That and I didnt blow off your advice because I am here to learn from someone experienced like yourself! Its been a major help in adding size and strength.Your journals are a great guide to me.

Cheers mudge, the 5x5 has been great and is working great. Feel like the forearms dont match up sometimes.Maybe its just being tall with long arms.Always very critical of appearance.

Excellent to hear about the 5x5 bro. I hope I wasn't rude in any way you seem like a good dude scous. Sorry for the confusion on your split dude.

My forearms never really matched up either until I started benching PL style and hitting JM Press every week. JM Press is really amazing what it will do for the entire arm. Really strengthens up the joints and elblows for bigger bench. the other day my chic brought it my attion that now I need to catch my upper arms up to my forearms thats a first since I too am 6 3 long arms. Glad you like the journals dude hang tight more good stuff to come. Theres some good tips on squats if you want to hear them too.

No problem D, I have learned a good few techniques from your logs. My squat has already prospered, used to feel awkward doing them , the movement is more fluid to me now. I also have a big respect for the 5x5 and proper training regimes. One guy at my gym has a great upper body but no legs, wears long shorts and never works legs and came and asked me what regime I was on. He said he never done deads or squats and he is fine. I laughed to myself because his legs are lacking BIG TIME! I also want to get some of those straps you have been using.

Dumb question, but do you know what your arms measure? Maybe they aren't as bad as you think.

Yo brotherman, I know how u feel a long long time ago at the age of 16 i got serious w/ the BBing my arms matched my age and at 6 5 250 looked like a lanky goof, 33 yrs old now and no my arms don't match my age. I brought the meat hooks in around 23 inches at 295 I started training again last June after some time off a lil heavier now arms 22 1/2 only time will tell what works for ur body. Basic movements, big fan of cables because of strict form. 21's to shock em here and there. Truthfully anything that can stretch em like heavy deads or barbell shrugs wiil help.
