Looking to cut and densify preexisting muscle… not looking to build too much muscle

Hey guys! First time poster here. I have been doing as much research as I can, but I often left with more questions than I am answers.

Basically, all I want to do is shed weight fast and continually shed fat until I reach a body fat of about 10-15%. My current BF is about 25%. I haven't been very kind to body these past few years with drinking beer and eating poorly. I've cut drinking out of my diet completely and am now looking to make strides towards getting my old physique back.

I am really not looking to build too much muscle at all. I'd like to look like the cover of Men's Health and not MuscleMag if you catch my drift. Not that I think there is anything wrong with bodybuilding, but it really isn't for me.

So now understanding my goals, I would like a little help and direction on the best way to achieve that with the supplements discussed in this forum.

My work out routines will probably include some HIIT, pushups and pull-ups to failure, light weight/high rep weight training and, of course, cardio. In the past I have made dense and lean muscle gains that I was satisfied with from this sort of training.

I'm not new to fitness and nutrition, I am just new to the subject matter of this forum.

What would be the best stack to achieve these goals in a timely fashion?

I am 5'9" - 220lbs - 25% BF - Mesomorph body type.

I am also lost in finding a reliable source from where I can get these supplements. Any and all help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance and I'm sorry for the noob question.

If you're not looking to put on additional mass beyond what you're capable of naturally, I suggest continue cutting the body fat and incorporate adequate weight training on top of your cardio. Just be careful with the cardio as a natural as your TDEE should be at no greater than a 20-25% deficit before you potentially catabolize muscle in an attempt to maintain homeostasis. You don't need drugs at all, just lots of hard work and a proper diet. 3J here is an excellent resource (and does offer services at a modest price) if you want to truly see what you can do.

FYI: Most models you see on the covers of fitness magazines are not natural at all and often run small doses of AAS and may have their images photoshopped/airbrushed. I'm not telling you to jump on the drugs, but that you should certainly see what you can do without them first. The beauty of that approach is you will develop a more anabolic body with a decent base if you do decide later on that you do wish to enhance your performance with them.

My .02c :)

I just used the magazines to provide example that I'm not looking to be a body builder. I just want to have a toned, lean, solid body.

I'm not really looking to do this naturally. I am looking to do this quickly to reach my goal and then down cycle off of the drugs to ease my body back to a natural and healthy anabolic state. Will I keep my results if I do this?

I am hoping to find some answers as to the best stack and dosage to achieve my goals from the starting point that I am at right now.

Thanks again!

Get on the train to Muscleville... You can always jump off at Tonedville on the way!

Joking apart, the guys you see on Mens Fitness push weight, and a lot of it... they probably just choose to take less AAS than the guys on MuscleMag, but their training will be almost the same.

For bodyfat loss, your best forms of training are HIIT and weightlifting... because not only are you torching calories whilst training, the fact that you've broken down muscle fibres forces the body to go into overdrive to heal them, this speeds up your metabolism to aid the recovery process.

Personally I'd leave the gear alone for now, as high bodyfat can cause issues with oestrogen whilst cycling.
You may find an ECA (Ephedrine, Caffeine, Aspirin) stack more beneficial for your current needs. However DO NOT run this if you have any history of heart issues or anxiety.

Good luck bud,

BigBen

^^ this is dead on. Aas, sarms or pretty much anything you use only work about 1/3 as effective when bf is above 15% get lean then cycle.
