losing testosterone by using 2 needles

Just wanted to see how many of you have noticed about 3 tick marks on a 1ml syringe worth of T lost in between switching needles (draw and injection needle).

I also find that sometimes I have to dip back in the bottle with the injection needle due to the amount not being the same after I switch, and I can't tell much difference in sharpness after plunging in the rubber stopper and then injecting with the same needle...

Anyone else have the same experience? I think I may start only using one needle...

What type of syringes are you using? 1cc luer lock are not that common (I ordered a ton of these myself).

That doesn't make sense to me. You draw, then pull back on the plunger, switch needles, and when you get it all set up youre 1-2 marks short, that's impossible. You might be C hair shy from the original pull but certainly not that much, unless your drawing with a 5/8 and injecting with a 1.5.

I use 1cc BD leur lock syringe, with a draw needle of 20x1 and injection needle of 23x1.5

I have to draw 1 tick mark past where I want to inject, and sometimes have to go back in with the injection needle to get more...trust me, it's not impossible.

Strange, ive never had this problem, youll lose a bit no matter what, but that seems to be quite a bit judging from my experiences.

I understand what Methos is saying. You do lose a bit when switching needles. He's trying to get all the air bubbles out.
I use the same pin for this reason....

Well, I personally think it has to do with the viscosity of the oil adhering to the first needle, and sense it doesn't feel that much different I am seriously thinking of just using the one needle for both duties.

Ya for sure, theres inst an issue with doing that at all. The rubber stopper dulls the needle a tad but its not an issue at all. If its less hassle then by all means go that route.

Well the nominal inside diameter of a 25 gauge needle is 0.26mm for a cross sectional area of PI*(0.13^2) = 0.053 mm^2.
Assuming a 1 inch (25.4mm) needle, that's a volume of 1.35 mm^3, or 0.00135 cc

That's assuming the needle stays completely full with oil.

EDIT: realized I used the wrong needle gauge: for a 20 gauge 1" draw needle the volume is 0.00725 cc, still a long way from a tick mark which is probably 0.02 cc

well, mrptz, you just went WAY over my head with that! (: LOL

I don't know where else it would go?

Don't sweat it :)

I was curious about how much would be left in the needle if you didn't pull back - not much as it turns out.
Sorry, I have no other explanation :dunno:
