The Richard Simmons 'face down, ass up' video brought my lifting to the next level =0

Benching secrets.

He claims that he trains his lifters at 60-70% max unshirted. They seem to only shirt up for the meet. His lifters also do alot of aux excersizes and DB work on their 2nd bench day of the week.

It's hard to give a good synopsis on the video without wrinting multipage paper about it.

its old but belive it or not speed work used to bew done with around 70% of max

the Militia guys are the ones that really revoltuionzed the shirt and how to use the shirt..they preach that a shirt should be used every week and raw should be trained on a separate day..

WSB pretty much feels that shirts are something that is only added say 5-10 weeks out from a meet..again its a different style and its something youll have to figure out for yourself..

My routine is a combo of the 2..My ME days are for shirt and boards and then i do a speed day..during the offseason i will do a raw 2 or 3 baord as a max with either bands or chains or both

MIn eis to some degree a combo of the two as well. I haven't been doing any speed work lately. It hasn't hurt me but on my "other" day I will begin adding lousies 60-70% spped workout.

He does 8sets of 3 reps at 60-70% no more than 60sec rest between sets.

i should have added they NO LONGER do speed work with that high of a percent..
its genreally in the 50-60% range when using straight weight

They, as in WSB or everyone in general.

Westside or the only ones that do "speed work"
try it with 70% lemme know how fast you can push the weight? prolly not to fast right?

Ive actually dropped my speed wieghts overtime and yet i become more taxed then when i went heavier..im able to really push the bar fast for all 3 reps..that is the purpose of speed work set 8 should be better than set 8 not the other way around

Yep, Militia does no speed work. Its all technique/equipment useage and refinery.

That is exactly the reason there are so many tiny meeker's out there and very few true strongmen.

I did WSB w/o tonight. I agree. 70% is alittle to heacy for speed.

But look down. I set a new PR after I was done with my 8 speed sets. To the tune of 405 RAW :)
