Low T, anxious about TRT with nebido
Hi guys!
I'm 32 years old and have low T. I followed my T levels over many years and they were always borderline low (around 250-300ng/dl).
In my case it's low LH. My testicles are okay and also a brain MRI was normal. I also had a LH stimulation test which was normal.
My endo couldn't explain why my T is low. But he also doesn't know very much about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) which became clear from what he said.
But the problem is that since I'm in Germany there are not many endos in the first place and usually endos here specialize on diabetes.
They know very little about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and only do the standard shit like: Gel, Ethanate, Nebido. That's all they offer.
Now my endo started me with t-gel which didn't work. The gel didn't deliver stable and high results. It really pissed me off.
I asked my doc if there was no other option besides testosterone, like injecting HCG. He said he does not do that.
In America this seems to be very common but in Germany no doctor does Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) treatments!
And this means that my only options left now are:
T-Ethanate 250mg/every 2-3 weeks or Nebido every 10-12 weeks.
To be honest I'm not keen on any of them. I cannot go to a doctor for injections every 2-3 weeks. Self-injecting isn't allowed by my endo.
I also don't think I could do this. And 250mg every 2-3 weeks causes huge peaks and I also don't want them. I am afraid that getting a huge peak
and then having low levels towards the end of the 3 weeks will cause unstable moods which I don't want at all!
But nebido on the other hand is a damn big injection, it's 4ml afaik. This is already damn scary. And once you've got it in your system you cannot get it
out. What if you get side effects and then have the stuff in your body for the next 2 months?
I'm really scared of this. I don't know what to do now. My natural T levels are around 10nmol/l which is borderline low.
With these levels I dont feel good. I am very skinny and still fat. I cant even do 1 regular pushup.
But at the same time I'm really scared of side effects of T injections. What if I for example lose my hair? This would also totally depress me.
And I dont want to take propecia. This stuff has a bad rep and can also mess you up.
Another issue is testicle shrinkage. Under the gel my testicles already shrank. I asked my endo and he said this cannot be.
I also dont want my balls to shrink together and under T injections they would definitely shrink probably even more than under the gel.
I wish I could just get Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) mono therapy but nobody here does this.
What would you suggest me? Anyone here who has been on nebido?
I also read reviews of nebido online and they also didn't sound very good. A lot of users reported all kinds of side effects like heavy acne, becoming hairy
like an ape, depression, joint pains and so on. This is also scary.
And I even read that T injections can cause heart attacks and that in a group where patients were being tested and got t-injections 1 patient died from a supposed heart attack!
I thought that low T is bad for the heart. And now it sounds as if testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is bad for the heart as well.
