Low T-Dr recommends TRT, what do I do next?

Gents, went in for a full blood lab because I've been feeling down. Test levels are only 153! I'm 36, 6'6" and down to 240. Haven't done a cycle for 9 months. Last one was an 8 week test prop cycle. I always run a post cycle protocol: clomid, nolvadex, NAC, post cycle therapy pills, deer antler, etc. starting in March I've had 7 surgeries on my leg and each surgery left me more run down. Hardly been able to get back to gym after each surgery and lost 20 lbs of mass. My question is: is my test so low because of the surgeries or did I mess it up on cycles? Secondly, do I do TRT for awhile or wait until I'm well and run cycles again? Not sure what test the Drs going to give me (E/C/P) or what dosage. I have to do another blood panel first. Only being 36 I don't want to already start TRT and mess up my natural test. Wanting to have kids in the future and maintain natural health.

Any help/advice from those who've been there is greatly appreciated

why would your natural test levels go down from having knee surgery??? Hold your ground and show us your blood work to see what the issue is.

If you go on TRT, you should expect to be on it for life. My natty test level was 153 also prior to TRT and I feel like a completely different person now. But like Milton said, post up your blood work, age, etc., and we can give you more info after.

Knee surgery would never cause you to fall into LowT. It can reduce it a little temporarily as your body goes into high healing mode and steals energy and such from the rest of you to do it, but surgery does not break your HPTA axis.

I'm 36, waiting on the full results from the Dr. He tested thyroid, GH, and a bunch of other things. I didn't say the surgeries caused the low T just wondering why else it would be so low at 36? Cybersage-how old were you when you started? Did you have kids after starting? Do you supplement with anything else (Hcg, clomid, etc?) what kind of dosage are you on?

I'm wondering if there's anything else I can do to get my levels up? L-arginine and more exercise? May be a stretch but just don't want to start TRT yet

Thanks

How long were you on pain killers? Opiates can destroy the leydig cells in your testes if on long enough, and the doses are sufficient. Happened to me and a few others on here.

Your blood test with LH and FSH will help rule that out though. :)

Few weeks at a time but some pretty heavy doses one week while I was on a self administered morphine drip. Is there any way to correct that? Or is the damage done?

First lab results:

Test serum: 153
LH 3.2
Ferritin 172
Prostate specific AG 0.8
Sex hormone binding glob 20.2
Cortisol 12.1

Said I can pick up the full results on Tuesday when I get the next blood work done

Any comments on the levels?

You're kind of in a grey area as your LH isn't crazy high or super low. I'd probably try a restart by hitting HCG then SERMs and see if that doesn't do the trick.
