Making pressed pills

Do you have a pill die? Ive worked in the tool and die industry for years. And i built a pill die for a pharm company in south america before. A production pill die is inserted into a press. Now for making small runs (1000's not 1,000,000's) you could make a small pill die and put it into a small manual press. I dont have any experience with the ingredients though.

this is very simple but you will need a pill press, all the fillers are easily available..

Making pills is more difficult than injetables. You may use direct compression and only use the press but it probably wont work. You can also try wet granulation (my choice) but prepare to spend thousands of dollars.
Keep in mind that all processes (wet/dry granulation, DC) involve some trial and error to get it right.

Is granulation worth it? I thought this is what pharmacies do. seems very difficult. Post up any guides if you have em!
I just mix mine in grain alcohol and squirt in my mouth or in an empty gel cap

Well Ligand it all depends on the quantity and the compound (some of them need to be coated tablets to pass the stomach).

It sounds like adding filler and capping the powders would be WAY easier. Hell if your only doing a few hundred it could be done by hand... Not ideal but it could be done

I was wondering, I'm trying to make bran tablets. Can someone tell me where i can get a form plate with 50 or 100 holes in it to put the mixture in? My plan is to grind the bran and mix guar gum and a little water to bind the bran, and put the mixture into a greased form. Does this sound right?

its a very simple process, the main binder is microcrystaline cellulose which can be coloured using lakes dyes and the best lubricant is magnesium sterate. the maths is very easy to do:
1000 x 220mg tablets with 50mg dianabol in each
total weight 220g
total active weight 50g
magnesium sterate (5%) 11g you can use anything up to 10% but 5 works well.

there are loads of fancy ways of working out the numbers to a pre set tablet press but its a lot easier to determin the size of the tablets you want then adjust the fill depth of the press untill you hit the size that you want.
