If you're trying to gain as much mass as possible, then yes, it can harm your gains. To gain maximum muscle, you should lay around all day, and just get up to eat and train.

bs..dont believe all the crap you read in flex mag!! the cardio work is good for bloodflow..which carries nutrients into your cells..it all comes down to if your eating enough..i grew up playing ice hockey which is a very high cardio sport..as a teen my legs grew tremendously from skating everyday..and i would do some squats as well..

How is it BS? I said to gain MAXIMUM muscle.

Because that's how you gain MAXIMUM fat.

The original poster said maximal muscle, not optimizing muscle gain while minimizing fat gain.

to gain MAXIMUM muscle, you WILL put on fat...just how it works

Oh hell yes.........if someone can't deal with a little fat (which I almost thought I couldn't) then they might wanna rethink a heavy bulking cycle. It's just gonna happen to some people. No two ways around that.

Very well put, how do you get to that next level of body weight without pushing your protein high and kcals over the top, if you are 200 and you want to be 250, then you eat like a 300 lber to get there.

I am sorry but if you need to see abs, or this thing called "clean bulk" what ever the hell that is, you go right ahead and gain 2-5 lbs a year for your 340 days of training.

You lift big, more intense, short duration and eat like you have never eaten before.

What one thing do some of the pros have over the average bber, they eat and eat a lot, no its not gear and of course genetics play a big part, but "food is the most anabolic thing out there"...

it will affect ur weight gain but 26 mins is not too long IMO. i am assuming that is only twice a wk. another thing- maybe u should change that routine so that ur not going to the gym 3 straight days in a row(wed, thur, fri). maybe advance ur fri w/o to sat.

totally agree with you..but surely one does not have to lay around all day and just eat and train..i mean according to that post you should get a bed pain this way you dont have to move and spend your energy!!!!

You guys just aren't as EXTREME as I am!!! :D

Former Mr. Universe Reg Park said he made his best muscular gains when he layed around in bed all day except to get up and train.

No, it is not required, but if you want the absolute maximum....

lol..but HOW much more?

even adding fat will make you stronger. therefore if you stronger you can move more weight and add more muscle. i always get stronger when i am holding some water/fat around the midsection. especially on my squats and deads. sleep helps a lot too. the days i train i am very sleepy early and sleep 10 hours no prob. now this dont count when my tren gets above 200mg/d cause then sleep is a thing of the past. hell i gotta get up and pee every thirty minutes.

I would assume this would be highly individual as with a lot of things. Some people might not see serious muscle gains until they tried something like that, while others might just get too fat. Hard for me to say, but if you want to gain the most muscle you can, you can give it a shot. Just abort if you get too fat lol.

If I may clarify one point so no one gets the wrong idea.

No, fat itself doesn't make you stronger, unless you've developed some strange genetic mutation where your adipose tissue has developed contractile properties.

HOWEVER, it does give more stability in the mid section, which can really aid in the squat, deadlift, and even olympic lifts (Shane Hammon is no lean guy, and many past champions had a gut). It is the same reason why breathing in and sticking your gut out when squatting helps you out in the bottom position.

It also gives you more leverage, which can be beneficial in the deadlift and olympic lifts (much more momentum your body has for the jerk).

One thing it can also do, but it doesn't really count, is give you a shorter ROM on the benchpress lol. It can make the numbers go up, but really only cause of a shorter ROM.

That and being fat generally allows you to carry more muscle than you would otherwise. It simply isn't a natural or healthy state to be really muscular AND really lean. That's why it's so difficult for so many people to realize goals of a "lean bulker" and other such things, and why drugs are very often used to force the body do something so unatural.

So if you allow yourself to accumulate more fat, you can carry more muscle, which will allow you to be stronger, and gain or maintain more muscle when you drop the fat.

That's the article that helped me get over the hump. Finally realized that if you want muscle, you gotta take the fat. Then just get rid of it later!

well technically you can add muscle and loose BF at the same time but the strenght/size gains are slower.

some of the guys i train want to lean out and get stronger while others just want to be big and strong. its their choice.

i recommend to bulk then lean like dante but wont argue if they choose the first route.
