Meal replacement drinks?

I was just wondering if meal replacement drinks would be something to turn to when you can't keep up the food intake.
I ask this because during a day i have classes, as well as practice, as well as lifting. This takes up a lot of my day, and i am usually tired after all this. I am eating enough, and my diet is up to par, but i usually have to stuff my face with food when my body cant take it anymore.
I was thinking about this today and i just thought i'd ask about it.
If meal replacement drinks cant work, is there anything else i could try. If not ill just stick to stuffing my face.
Thanks guys

take some oatmeal and put it in the blender and chop it into a fine powder. Add this to your shake and you can get quite and bit of protein and complex carbs in your shake.

You can also add some Natty Peanut Butter to your shakes to up the calories by adding GOOD fats.

I try not to eat lots of carbs and fats together.

Early in the day use the oatmeal/whey shake.
Later in the day use the PB/whey shake.

I just find the comercial Meal Replacement Shakes are expensive and if you eat a lot you look for ways to get in the right amount of food without going broke. Whey, oatmeal, and PB is pretty cheap. MRP's are not.

yea...what easto said

or do what i do and put meals in tupperware containers and eat them inbetween class. I have classes on tuesday and thursday ALL day. I fill a tupperware container with brown rice, throw some steamed veggies on top, and cut chicken breast(s) on top of that. Tuna sandwhiches on whole wheat with spinach lettuce and maybe lowfat or fat free cheese are also easy to transport and eat. Brown rice, extra lean ground beef, and veggies. Throw some cooked oatmeal and an omlette in a container, heat it up, and eat. Anything really.

thanks for the replies guys... it helps alot...
Just cant eat so damn much all the time, just feel sluggish. And when we have to run for baseball its a bitch?

Just curious, how much protien is in say half a cup of oatmeal? Im definitely going to try that one

None....zero.....; Oatmeal is carbs, not protein.
umm.....my box of quaker oats says 10g (5 per 1/2 cup).

theres no such thing as an incomplete protein. all protein, with few exceptions, has some level of all essential amino acids. The "incomplete" proteins, simply have an amino acid that is lower in proportion to the bodys requirements, which makes no difference unless youre consuming tiny amounts of protein.

i dont eat oatmeal as a protein source, but i do count the protein in oatmeal towards my protein goal for each meal.

At this point, I don't give a fu(k how much MRP's cost. The only shake I've ever tried that wasn't absolutely disgusting, and actually tastes good is ON's MRP. To me, that is worth the extra cash. Just my 2 cents.
