mens physique contests???

I am banned!
I have been out of bb since 1999 so I had never seen the new men's physique division. First off I want to say that these guys UPPER body's look great. However, wtf, the way it's run is totally gay(excuse my political incorrectness). I mean "board shorts"? What the hell are board shorts? It seems catered to homosexuals, which is fine but please not in the npc or ifbb. We already had place for bodybuilders who don't want to go all in on anaboics called bantamweight, lightweight, and middleweight. But the worst thing of all is that they cover their legs!!!!!! WTF. Are we now rewarding those idiot's in the gym who only work their upper body?? I'm really not a hater, I think these guys look fantastic, but this type of contest belongs at a spring break party or something. It's ridiculous and it's not bodybuilding it's modeling. What do all you think about this???

And if your saying that my post is immature it's not. I would love to see a "classical physique" division perhaps where guys try to emulate an older look. But not this. It is 100% targeted towards homosexuals. Who, are a huge financial contributer to the npc. If guys want a beauty contest to enter I would rather see a different organization. Please don't put ifbb next to these guys.

There are plenty of big dudes in the physique class, some genetically dont have the height or weight to compete in bb but still look amazing, board shorts, so be it man!
One reason why thy have dif classes man, would be unfair in my eyes for a 5'4 guy competing against a 5'10 to 5'11 guy
Works both ways, seen it from time to time bb dropping down to physique class and try to compete against those guys, those guys are shreded to the bone man and incredibly cut, look amazingin my eyes

Yes, I said that they look fantastic. But it's not bodybuilding. What about their legs???? That bothers me the most, I guess cause my legs were my best body part and legs always separates the men from the boys in bb. It's fine but it should be somewhere else like in a mall modeling contest or something. And yes its exactly what you said, a contest for those who can't cut it in bb for one reason or another.

The ones that dont are just fooling themselves as when they come out of contest they look very odd, good upper body with no legs, but like u know and I know u see it all the time in the gym, what seperates the men to boys
My legs are so so right now dealing with a torn lcl, still hit them once a week but lightly right now till the tear gets better, just bare the paini guess
No surgery involved yet, just gotta strengthen it back up, whatever it takes to get back to normal again, sucks but happens

My problem isn't with the idea itself of a contest for a more realistic physique (however a lot of the guys I saw are not realistic without anaboics) it's the way it's presented. I don't know how these guys do it, it's a joke. If a regular person saw a bodybuilder on stage they think wow or usually I don't want to be like that or whatever but when you see men's physique the first thought is a gay man's dream. Sorry but it's queer as presented. They need to change it somehow.

There's a pic of him with massive legs. He could easily take n overall at a bodybuilding show. But he competes in physique
 
You do know that training legs is a vital part of building an "overall" physique, big compound lifts like the squat stimulate more test release. When you train compound with multiple muscles at once you not only stimulate more growth you burn more calories. You don't get to the top by only doing isolation dumbell excercises.

I would seriously doubt any decent men's physique/fitness competitor skips leg day.
Just because they cover their legs doesn't mean they aren't just as developed as the rest of their body

I'm not even going to bother defending the men's physique division, those guys' dedication speaks for itself.

To be honest, I prefer the bodybuilding division, but until you post a pic looking better than a top-10 finisher in physique I don't think you have any right to lay down your "judgement" on them.

My last show was 1990...legs were integral in my aesthetic look ( I mean...I won...the overall..granted it was a state collgiate show but still )..then I hadto stop gear asmy boss Uncle Sam had me very verybusy...and I only do legs when the pain is bearable..bullet ruined that part of the training.

But I agree with ALL OF YOU...and since I too am looking like a gay ass porn star more than a meathead.....sigh....

Sign of the times bro...as a sport here in Gods country..I see more and more slackers than serious hard chargers in the gym these days...
The big ultra freaks ( I say this w much affection for the sport) are no where to be found....in these hre parts....

Fitness physique shows are is the fad...glad sort of as I m one of em now...damnit.

No I have nothing against homosexuals, and I'm from ny. But I'm a bodybuilding fan and I was a national level middleweight so I know how hard it is to get that ifbb pro card. I think these guys look great, I said that. Did I, when I competed look better than some of them, yes I most certainly did. As a matter of fact there is a current ifbb pro who competes in physique now who I've beaten in an npc national contest. He got his pro status bodybuilding btw and he's smaller now. All I'm saying is its totally stupid and if you guys don't think it's gay all I have to say is come on your just not saying it. I got stomach sick when I saw this shit. Put them in some other federation it's a disgrace to real ifbb pros to call these guys ifbb pros. They are Abercrombie and finch models on juice. Lmfao
