multi-v's

They are some of the most important things you can take. Next to that is Flaxseed Oil. Google the benefits of Flaxseed Oil...a lot of bodybuilders take them. Barry Bonds took them like crazy.

I don't believe you really 'feel' more energy with MV's like some people say. You can't possibly get all the nutrients you need from just daily intake of food so you NEED MV to give those cells and organs vitamins/nutrients that will enhance their wellbeing. MV's are like oil on the gears and cogs. Help everything run a little smoother.

I think energy comes from calories and a strong heart. The more you eat the more fuel your body has to run on. The more in shape you are the more energy you have. I don't believe that comes from MV's.

MV's have been said to increase skin health & look, recovery time from the gym, etc.

Here is a quote from the Harvard School of Medicine
Harvard School of Medicine, in the Journal of the American Medical Association stated that "it appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements." In this article, which examined the clinical applications of vitamins for the prevention of chronic diseases in adults examined English-language articles about vitamins in relation to chronic diseases published between 1966 and 2002, and concluded that inadequate intake of several vitamins has been linked to the development of diseases including coronary heart disease, cancer, and osteoporosis

Your need for MV's will also depend a lot on your diet. I take a multi every other day or sometimes every 3rd day. Avoid MV's with iron in them when you are on cycle, iron will raise your hemocrit further!

My daily diet is what most would consider extreme both on and off cycle. I do eat a ton of citrus and veggies and other fruits along with massive amounts of meats. 6-8 meals per day is not uncommon for me and I am talking real meals! not a protein drink and a granola bar type of meal :P

Fish oil is excellent to take on or of cycle also. I take 12grams per day now.

its interesting how multi-v's work.. I think it is way better to get your nutrients from foods and not just a pill, but when you take them aswell to help sharpen your diet up I think its fine. You always no matter what take what you need and piss dollar bills lol

For whole foods for nutrients what do you guys think are the best fruits and veggies?
and zeek sounds not to shabby if you ask me man, you know your shit ! I only take my multi-v's once and a while but I wanna take them more

I don't think it is quite that simple when considering multi V's . Many of them have metals as well as the typical vitamins and some of these will build up in your system if taken over time. That can lead to health problems. Moderation is key

Since researching more about specific vitamins/minerals and deficiencies of specific ones. I have really noticed much more out of just picking certain ones and buying them separately and taking them separately. MV's have so much of everything, but very trace amounts of them all, so even if you were deficient in one, it isn't enough to correct the imbalance and make you notice anything anyways.

unless your spending big bucks for organic food just doesnt have the nutrients in it that it did 50 years ago. genetically modified fruits and vegetables bred to grow fast and be bug resistant and its fed with chemicals for nutrients and grown in ground that hasnt had real nutrients for years due to over farming.the same gos for the chickens, beef, pork, etc.
a moderate dose high quality multi vitamin is a cheap insurance policy imo. dont just grab a bottle do some research for yourself. i use a iron free twinlab dailyone multi.

This is really the sad reality of the food most of us eat. I buy a few things organic like lettuce, spinach, broccoli. Since it is so hard to wash the pesticides from it. Other than I just can't afford all organic

I always take a potent high quality multi yearound. Its my insurance policy. I think its hard to get all the vitamins and minerals you need just from diet nowadays. Especially when your a bodybuilder. A multi is on the top of my supplement list, right there with whey post workout and fish oil.

true dat

people tend to go overboard , they buy mega dosed vitamins and take them for a while and quit. i believe in a moderate dosed vitamin taken continuously . i also believe any male over 40 should take a QUALITY zinc supplement for the prostate . i highly reccomend opti-zinc , i use source naturals .i also take 400 mg of NATURAL e a day and fish oil capsules.

even if you ignre all my other advice look into the opti-zinc , zinc is crucial to a mans prostate and we men are partial to a healthy prostate.

Guys spend way too much on megadosed multivitamins. Go get a generic one from like Jamieson or Swiss Naturals or whatever. A multivitamin is just kind of a "precaution". I've taken one every day for a few years now and I haven't even had a head cold in probably 5 years.

As for foods to eat: Go for foods high in Omega 3 and antioxidants if you can. Quinoa is great, salba/chia seed is fantastic, hulled hempseed/hemp hearts is great. Unfortunately all of this stuff is a little pricy, but if you're on steroids, you shouldn't skimp.

As for greens, when you're on cycle, I would suggest limiting the amount of spinach, broccoli, kale and other dark greens you eat, and up your intake of red foods like beets, pomegranate and pomegranate juice, as well as things like blueberries. Garlic and onions will also have a favorable effect. When you're on the juice, you want to THIN your blood. Dark green veggies will thicken it further.
