muscle cramps and knots

Been having a lot of spasms and cramps, especially midback, hamstrings, amd hip flexores. I'm hydrated, dropped most simple sugars, and use test cup at 200mg/week. Other supplements include a daily multi, 1g vitC, 6000iu D, b complex. Other meds are allopurinol, losarten, Claritin.

Any idea what i can do to eliminate these? Stretching doesn't seem to matter. Maybe i should ask in supps forum, but perhaps others have this in their training?

Eat more bananas & potatoes, I had shitload of cramps in my legs specially after a long leg session (because I sweat a lot) when you sweat you not only lose water but also nutrients like sodium & potassium. Potassium is the main nutrient you need to prevent those cramps.

if you have a fairly good diet and drink atleast a normal amount of milk there's no need t take 6000iu of vit D. I'd drop that immediately. You may think you are hydrated but may not be. Increase water intake 1L per day. also make sure you are getting electrolytes in you. what kind of stretches do you do? try getting into the bottome of the squat position and sit there or a while everyday, do this before every lifting session as well.

Well, bloodwork shows vitD was low, so I don't intend to drop taking that anytime soon. I don't drink milk, though the almond milk I use has more than regular milk, anyway. And at roughly 180ounces of water daily, not including the ice I like to have in it, I'm not certain how I can get another liter in there. My teeth already float and I pee like a pregnant woman. And sadly there's no way I'm doing anything in the squat position, already had one knee fixed... I go to physical therapy 2x a week where we stretch for an hour and those ladies don't know what to tell me, either. hough it's nice when the cute one sees the cramp and offers to massage it out for me :biggthump

not sure what to do with electrolytes. gatorade is mostly sugar water. read an article on calcium and magnesium balance in muscle sometimes causing cramps, but with D supplementation and the almond mild (not to mention all the kale and broccoli I'm eating) it seems like calcium wouldnt be an issue.

electrolytes are just potassium, calcium and sodium. gatorade is shit for this purpose, them claming their drink replenishs electroytes is just gimmicking hype. now that you said how much water you have been drinking, it's alot an d is probably the reason for the cramps. you don't have enough electrolytes because of your water intake. you don't drink milk, so i would get a calcium supplement. eat a banana a day and also salt your food. salt is good for you. try this and see how your cramps are in a week or so.
