You may remeber me from asking about the moral and ethical issues around taking Steriods and your replies were really appreciated.

I was just wondering, as i presume most of you are recreational users, what is your belief in regards taking Performance enhancing drugs in competitive sports?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Aaron.

It takes skill that something in a vial/bottle won't give you to play at that level. I strongly feel that people need to wake up and realize that truly competitive folks are going to do what it takes to be the very best they can be, whether it is legal or not. The government needs to worry about the economy more and what Bobby Baseball player is taking to hit those home runs less.

I see nothing wrong with them in competitive sports. Let them do what ever it is that helps them perform. It is their work, let them be the best they can be. It only makes them more interesting to watch also thats undeniable.

The reality of it is a large percentage of athletes are juicing. And if your not, your usually behind the other guys

Throughout the history sports there have been advancements in equipment. The body is another part of equipment needed to play the sport. Why is it acceptable to gain an advantage by altering only certain components of a game. The greatest contributing factor to any sport has and always will be the athlete. What ever the performance enhancements are the athlete still must posses the raw talents and skill sets to compete at a high level. I can not go through enough enhancements with my equipment and body that would allow me to compete in the NFL or others. The body is a tool just like anything else in sports. The bad reputation comes from closed minded people who refuse to accept science and fact.

It may enhance your performance but it doesn't come free you still have to work hard most dudes like myself who use gear work harder than most people ever will. Most people don't have the will power when they feel like there going to pass out to hit 5 more reps. Steroids help yes but it doesn't replace the hrs in the gym you also have to spend to achieve your goals. I say let all athletes use them baseball was way more interesting when hey were on the juice.

We ask these people to put there bodies on the line for our entertainment. We want them to punish there bodies in practice everyday and fly around the country night after night. Then we want them to play as hard as they can for every second of the game. Take that hard foul! Crush that guy with a tackle! We scream "shake it off and get in for the next play"! MMA fighters destroy there bodies 3 and 4 hours a day. They all go out and put there bodies on the line. There bodies literally break down on them at still young ages. They give there health for our entertainment.
But as soon as they try to do something that would help them heal faster or recover quicker from these brutal workouts WE cry foul!
What a bunch of crap! When will people and politicians wake up and educate there selves through books instead of media television?!?!

most athletes juice anyway so its more or less an "equal" playing field. about as equal as mixed budgets for teams can be (in baseball at least). lets see yankees $28M budget vs Marlines $10M budget, its a real shocker they go to the world series almost every year.
