My experience with Testim gel

I started on Testim almost 2 weeks ago...yes, I am a woman. Given that there aren't currently any women's specific TRT out there on the market, I've been told to use approximately one eighth of a tube per day. I've been applying to my upper arms, alternating every couple of days. The smell works well with me, I've experienced much worse in the gym. The first week was awesome...more focused, thought about sex most of the day and during the night. Libido was increased massively and had some rather great side effects from this, several times a day (possibly slightly greedy) and then week 2. It was as if someone pulled the rug from under my feet and said, f..k you. Libido went through the floor, stupidly lethargic, completely flat and feeling like shit. Hitting the weights was nigh on impossible. I'm just at the end of week 2 and am assuming that the small amount of test that my body was making, is now mostly null and void and therefore, I may need to up the dosage to counteract this fall. My GP is away for the next two weeks. I'm tempted to stop the treatment altogether if this is what it is going to be like. Anyone have any ideas?

Gels/Creams have a few issues with them.

They don't absorb evenly which means sometimes you get more Test and sometimes you get less with each application.

They tend to aromatize more than injections so you can get swings in your estradiol levels.

They also more expensive than injections.

There is risk of transfer to the other people in your life.

I would recommend that you switch to injections. Perhaps start at 10mg/wk. And as always when using AAS, watch for signs of virilization.

Thank you. Some very valid points. I spoke to an on-call GP who agreed that I appeared to know more than her on this subject. She was unclear of the possible ramifications or iatrogenic issues relating to the combination of estradiol and testosterone. I will have more blood work done next week as i'm pretty convinced that a huge portion of the T is being aromatised, due to my already low estradiol levels. I understand it is a bit hit and miss and I am well aware that there is a distinct difference in day to day levels. I'm applying on my upper arm over heavily tattooed areas. I'm going to try switching to my thighs but in all honesty, the gels are a bit of a pain. I was applying around 5pm but today started earlier in the day. Might explain why my sleep is mostly disturbed. My GP wanted to see what happened with the gel and then switch to an implant.

Don't do the pellet implants. They are for cattle. Your doc will just be making a buttload off the procedure. Injections are tried and true. They are cheap. And they are very easy to do at home yourself.
