thus, short guys looking better by means of less work. it just shows up better on them.

I sure wouldn't want to be the one to tell Needsize or Ingram that they did "less work"...

seems from this thread... that it may stunt growth... but it doesnt, if you do it right... there are studies that say it closes growth plates and other that contradict. ive been lifting since i was 13, and i am now 5'11" a bit taller than most of the males in my family. one thing i never did as i was younger... was cleans... coach (jr. high) said it could hurt as our bones werent fully developed yet... nevertheless, i was squatting 405x3 by 9th grade, though we never cleaned. and i am still 5'11"

I am a lazy bastard, thought you knew that......
especially now that I have to train 2x daily, and do 80 minutes of cardio each day on top of it...

I hope this doesn't detract from my other thread but there is a myth about bodybuilding that I've been told for a few years.

Myth:
I've been told that if you start bodybuilding when you are young(lets say you start becoming interested in working out at 12 years old...like me) then you body focuses its hormones on building muscle mass rather than your height.

This is the reason I have worked out maybe for two months in a row, then quit, then worked out for two months in a row, then quit....off and on the past 4 years...since I was 12. I was scared that if I worked out continuously for a long time then that would happen. I am also scared it did happen. I'm 16 and only 5'4". I'm practically a midget...not to dog on midgets.

Would you guys know whether that is a myth or a fact?
Myth. I've had beginner lifters ask me that a couple times now. I know this one kid who's been lifting since he was about 13yrs old and he's about 5ft 8in and growing, both up and out. He's a monster for his age(he's only like 15 now) Hasn't stunted his growth. Its a myth. Keep lifting
