Need Advice on TRT plan

I am a 41 year old with Hashimotos. I was put on HCG injections for about 4 months last year as my doctor indicated it would help me impregnate my wife ( my level at the time was 330). It did. I was then put on 200 mcg testosterone shots monthly for 9 months. I was on 200 mcg synthroid. I felt that was too much. After getting several second opinions I found that it was too much synthroid, in fact so much that it shut down my pituitary. I am now on 125 mcg snthroid daily and have not had a T shot in 6 months. My latest T lab result was 339.2 (range: 348-1197).

Some questions:

1. Since I have taken testosterone shots before I will need to take it for life, correct?

2. My doctor has suggested creams, gels and shots as treatment. Suggestion?

My main symptoms are mild depression, not waking up rested, and brain fog and anxiety.

I am a marathon runner and suprisingly my running has improved over the last six months.

Please advise. Many thanks.

From my limited knowledge and experience, 339 is pretty low for an athletic 41 year old. I do self injections of 100mg Test Cyp EW, and would suggest it to anyone who doesn't have some major reason not to. They are easy, cheap, and avoid a lot of issues people have with topical or oral Test. I can tell you that in the 5 weeks I have been on mine, I am a brand new man. My total test was 288, and the Dr. said he would like to see it at 600-700. I will be retested in a couple of months. Personally, I hope he ups my dose from 100mg/wk to 200mg/wk. I have never felt as good as I have in the last 5 weeks. It makes that much difference.

It would be nice if someone from Maximus would stop in to offer some advice. Ace is on a conservative protocol but it appears to be working for him and this is a great example of where to start. 100mg/week is a great jumping off point in my opinion. That's where I started and then we readjusted after initial BW and upped it to 200mg/week, with 250 HCG 2x week and 1gm Arimidex/week. At 43 I've never felt better . If you have a choice always go with the injections. It sounds scary at first but after the first few times you don't even notice it. Good luck to you.

Welcome to the board schweddy.

All the symptoms of low T and the test results to validate it. No doubt you need T. You already know what shots are like. You kind of get used to them. 200mg T/month is crap. As you know you'll feel pretty bad by the end of a week. Even if that's all you needed at least once a week for the injections.

Their is a good thread on cream on here. Read through that thread. Most on here pin.

Why would he stop your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)? That must have been hell getting off trt! I'm glad you're getting back on.. Go with shots 100%.. nothing is better than shots.. Creams and gels are crap
