need info on clomid with trt

I have been on trt for almost a year. Im 28 but was diagnosed with low t. I take 120mg of test cyp every 7 days. I still want to have one more child so i had my fsh and lh tested. Both were less then 0.1. I have heard that your more at risk of shutting down your natural production permenantly the longer you stay on trt so i wanted to stop injecting for a bit and do a small cycle of clomid to kick start my own production. I intend to get back on tes after a small activation time so i wanted to know how long after my last injection till clomid will be effective and how much and how often should i take it. Also how long after i start taking it would i need to run it since im jsut jump starting so its not dormant for a long time

Have you had your sperm count checked. Lots of guys on TRT have managed to have kids. You could look into hcg or hmg as options as well. I would work with a doctor if I were you.

Im not going for children just yet i just dont want endanger the possibility for when i do. No i have not had my sperm count or motility checked but from what i have seen on forums (from here included) that is your fsh and lh have bottomed out then you not producing. As for working with doc im usre i would have to find another one for that. He didnt think my 120mg every 7 days would drop my fsh and when he saw it did recommended that i lower my dosage. Which i did and feel like how i did before trt.

Taking exogenous test shuts down your LH and FSH. That's completely normal.

Add hCG to your protocol. That will help keep your testicles going.

Your TRT doc never told you taking exogenous Testosterone would suppress your pituitary hormones ?
Who ordered the test(s) for LH/FSH ?
Were you diagnosed with primary or Secondary Hypogonadism ?
If your doc put you on TRT (T injections) why would clomid do anything ?
TRT is not an AAS cycle, like some people treat it....it's for life!
Your body needs it....hence you stay on it!
Has your TRT doc not told you to use HCG while on TRT to maintain testicle function ?

You should first start using the hCG and maybe hMG as that will increase fertility, otherwise there are programs available to restart your HPTA:

lol read both your replies and have to say your attitude is right on par with mine. I already knew that my fsh would drop no matter dose which is why I requested fsh and lh test after 3 months on trt. In fact he rejected my first request for test cause it was so close behind my test to see where my tes was at on trt. I was never diagnosed for either i just told him my energy level was tanked and i wanted him to test my t levels cause that was my guess. He saw they were low so he prescribed tes at my request. As for clomid im not taking it while on injections. I just want to make sure that i dont premenantly shut down ability to produce sperm so i want to wake up my natural production every 6 months or so. So my plan was to get off injectiopns for 2 weeks then start an aggressive clomid regiment for a month then go back to injections since clomid is not a good trt option.

YEah when i go to have my second child i intend to get on hcg and hmg while trying but i just wasnt sure if i shut down my production permenantly that hcg or hmg would do anything. Train of thought on that is you can wake something up that is sleeping but you cant wake the dead. GEt what i mean? But i dont know the full info on that one which is why im taking steps to err on the side of caution.

and no he has not prescribed an AI. It really seems he is learning about trt as i bring up new issues though i am considering asking him about getting on an AI since my body acne is popping up everywhere since on trt and as i have read that is from the boost in estrogen from extra tes

This is fuckin ridiculous. There are protocols in place for guys on TRT that have worked time and time again in keeping their fertility while on T injections. Your plan of stopping T injections to start clomid is ridiculous!
What were your baseline levels on labs before going to see this doc?

whoa whoa calm down. Your not telling me anything i dont know and im well aware how rediculous that i, with my limited knowledge in the area, seem to know more then him(thanks primarily to this site). In no way do i claim to have all the answers or knowledge to run my own treatment or i would not be here. But if you want my train of thought about thinking of cloimid over hcg and hmg its that i read hcg use say after a post cycle actually hurts your post more then helps cause your still putting synthetic in your body thus preventing body from producing my own. I reiterate that this switch to clomid is not to mess with a controlled system in any way it is simply to make sure that my natural hormone producing glands are not shut off for so long that i cant get them back working. Perhaps its impossible to permanently shut off anything but im jsut taking measures to ensure that duration is not one of factors. Clomid promotes your own production where as hcg is jsut another replacement that will prevent my body from producing something i want ot keep functional. If im misinformed or missing a crucial piece of info here that is why im asking the community and not taking every web sites info that seems to contridict.

Just take hCG with your Test. Make it part of your TRT protocol.

hCG is good for having your body produce natural testosterone. There is a lot of literature which proves that hCG will increase your fertility, mainly by increasing intra-testicular testosterone. This alone should help, if it doesn't you can add hMG. The cells which are responsible for spermatogenesis/testosterone will not die. They will atrophy become dormant if you will. But in this case, we are not trying to resurrect the dead.

TRT does not have "post cycle".
When you and your doc decided to commence TRT (120 mg/7 days) you made the choice right then and there to shut off your natural production of Testosterone. If you are on TRT, you are either primary or Secondary hypogonadal (not uncommon to be a mix of both) .

got the clomid from a friend of mine who had trouble conceiving. I was thinking 100mg for 3 days then 50 every other day for 2 weeks. after 2 weeks of not injecting. But if the imt guy is correct which i trust then i should not have any trouble with permenantly shutting anything down so i dont need to consider this course since i can wake them up whenever regardkless of time on trt.

heh and about whether im primary or secondary not a clue. My T was low so he prescribed tes i took the injections over the gel. Which now i know is dumb that he didnt check but im guessing too late now since all my tes in my body is synthetic at this point
