was doing military press with barbell.. now my left shoulder is sore as fuck.. could i have torn something or is it most likely a strain .. was maxing out for 1 rep..
 
Probably just a pulled/strained muscle, I think you'd know if you actually tore something.

Anyways, I'll move this to the Training forum for more opinions.
 
take some anti-inflammatory meds and let it rest for a couple of days. If it were torn it would be more than just sore as fuck. is you moblity limited? not just by pain but does it feel mechanically limited? if youre just sore you can rest it off. if your loosing mobility with severe pain, you need to see a Dr.
