Hi all !
I really need help to heal this stubborn shoulder injury !!.

For the last 3-5 years it has been the injury that dictates how heavy i can train in alle chest exercises and all pressing movements in my delt-training......i am SICK of it !!!!!!!!

I can lift my arms to the side without any pain, but when i lift my arms in front, like frontraises, then the pain get really bad !
also when i do the "neck press" movement, even when i just use my arms, no wieght ! :(

I have been to the doc, who says : take a break from training !
...i did and went to a physical therapist and got ultrasound treatment and massage, it did nothing for me ! :(
I also got injections of cortisol in my shoulders, and i have tried B12 shots in the shoulders !

Now i do rotator cuff exercises 1-2 times a week, its very good for varming up my shoulder.
I eat fish oil, magnesium and a herp/berry that i dont know the english worm for, i feel that it have helped, but not enough !!

I tried a mixture of MSM/GLUCOSAMINE, but it gave me terrible acne, so i desided to stop, my face looked awfulk, one week after i stopped my face cleared up again, dont know if it was the MSM or the GLUCOSAMINE ?!?

NOW....do anybody have a idea what i could try ?
I am pretty desperat, my chest is my weak area, so i NEED to be able to train chest !
I havent done flat benchpress or behind the neck press for years, but now ALL exercises hurt !!!

I need ANY help i cant get !!!

Ps. i dont feel the pain much when i use roidz....but afterwards....uuuh la la :(

If YOU got any ideas, then PLEASE post them here ! :)

Regards

Well shoot! I was gonna say get some MSM.

What's the nature of the injury? I mean, how did it happen? When did it begin to hurt etc and can you recall what it was that caused it?

well, it came slowly, year after year..
first it was behind the neck press i could not do anymore...so fuck it i thought, its not worth the pain !
...them it was flat benchpress....that i did not like, because i loved that exercise, but i gave it up !
...then now, a couple of years later i feel pain in incline benchpress and all other chest/delt exercises ! :(

i have been training for 13+ years without any serious break !
maybe my body just dont want to workout anymore ? ...but i love it, the workout is part of who i am ! :(

"crying softly" :)

Look into prolotherapy. Had problems with both my shoulders and now they work fine. The shots are painful any you will hurt for about three days after but I feel worth it. Shots are taken about every two weeks for about 4 -10 sessions.

For me it seems like u are doing everything right actually. How is youre warm up routine before going on the heavy weight? Try to warms up really much with many sets, maybe it can help some?

good luck bro! stuff like that SUCKS!

injuries suck. nothing worse than being sidelined. i have no way to tell you what caused it. but i would hesitate before rushing back in to training. maybe some time off is what you need.

I agree 100%. About 70% of my medical practice is now prolotherapy. I do it because it works.
I wouldn't be lifting today except for curing my shoulder problems w/ prolo. Also, knee, neck, back, fingers.
Check out getprolo.com for starters

Thx bro !
I do a very good warmup, and my rotator cuff exercises before heavy training ! + light stretching.
Have you heard if you can get prolotherapy in sweden ??
....then maybe i should visit my good neighbours ! :)
have been in Göteborg many times, nice city ! :)

I had a very similar injury to the one you are speaking of. Chronic injuries slowly build up over time. I had pain in my right shoulder but only when I put the empasis on my front deltiods such as in front raises and upright rows. I went to my physiotherapist who told my I had a shoulder impingement syndrome. What happened was that because of my rappid growth from the use of roids, the muscles in my shoulder complex had become unbalanced and this caused them to pinch against each other in the sagital plane of motion. My shoulder was popping and clicking like there was no tomorrow. My physio told me that that was the sound of my muscle moving over each other. So what I had to do was relieve uneeded stress on my shoulder and strengthen up the underdevelopped muscle that crossed the shoulder joint. I reduced the weight I was using on all of my heavy pressing movements and focused more on bringing up my laging weaker muscles.
Since then I have cut out the following exercises:
Behind the neck press
Upright rows
Behind the neck pull downs
I have also included rotator cuff exercises that work every angle of my shoulder complex. I perform longer warm up sessions prior to training. MSM Glucosamine and chondroitn sulphate are the staple of my joint supplementation. I don't know if this will help you but my shoulder was completely fine after 3 months of rehab.
