Need some opinions

Allright, I need some opinions on my endocrinologist. I'll start out with some general information about me and my lab results.

______________
26 years old
215 lbs.
5'7"
Symptoms of low T since 19
______________
Labs:
Total Testosterone - 217 (241-827 ng/dL)
Low Fsh
Low Lh
Pituitary Tumor (Secondary hypogonadism)
______________

I know the fsh and lh are low but my doctors office next to refuses to provide me with my levels.

Doctor started me on 2 pumps of Androgel daily without consulting with me to determine if i had a preference on shots/gels. I have a wife and a 4 year old daughter. I take precautions to ensure my wife and daughter do not get exposed but I flat out told him i didn't want to chance it and would prefer shots.

I also told him I plan on having a child in the next 3 years. So he took me off the Androgel and I am on 2,000 IU of Novarel 3 times a week.

I feel like he might not be the doc for me. If i could choose my preference on how to proceed I would do weekly test shots and around 250iu of novarel every other day.

Am I right in thinking this much Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) indefinitely would be a horrible idea. That's 6,000 IU a week!!!

Thank you, that's what I've been thinking. I've got an appointment with a different doctor next week and will see what he says. Since my current doc will not do test and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) together or test shots more frequently than once a month I think I'm done with that doc.

That right there is a red flag, your wanting to move to a new doc is completely warranted.

Another BIG red flag is him wanting to do testosterone injections once every 4 weeks !! That should be the selling point on his lack of knowledge on the subject and the reason why you should find help elsewhere!

Are you sure you have a pituitary tumor? Your MRI showed one? Are you getting it removed?

Yes, i had an MRI and it showed a pituitary macroadenoma. They are playing the wait and see game. As far as I know, it's only affecting fh and lsh at this point. It's not affecting my vision yet so they want to wait. I would prefer just to get it removed as I'm not a fan of the wait and see game.

Thanks guys for the encouragement. Good docs are hard to find in my area even though that includes specialist in st louis. I do tend to get irritated with doctors early on but I was pretty sure this was just getting ridiculous. The nurse is just as bad. I wanted her to double check the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) dosage with the doctor and she made me schedule an appointment for me to ask him myself...wtf..lol I see my Family doctor next week and will see what he is willing to do for me. I am in luck with the fact that my family doc is a younger guy and generally the best doc I've ever had.
