Hey so i have a step dad who is trying to lose weight... Hes not looking for a diet plan, just advice for some lifestyle changes and tips on what an when to eat type stuff...
I am doing the calorie calculator to figure out his calorie needs and stuff... His goal is to lose his gut.
Me personally ive eother dirty bulked or lean bulked never really cut. I know he should be 300cals below maintenance, and drop it 300cals everytime he stops droppin the pounds... Carb cycling really isnt an option for him. Hes a trucker and on the road 20-25days a month. So its more like hes just looking for a general diet management ideas to try and follow to see some results.

Hes 53years old, 188lbs, 25%bf, 5'9, and hes an endomorph...
My main question is what should be his macro balance?

Is it better to lean on lpw carbs or low fats
Any other tips would be great!

Is he wanting to loose weight by diet alone? Being a truck driver is a very sedentary job.

If he diets 300 calls below maintenance and hits a wall then drops 300 again... The metabolism is just simply gonna figure this out and slow down to adjust,, it's not that simple,, in one way or another some sort of carb cycling will be needed to "pull" his metabolism in the other direction ..
Even if it's a very simple form of carb cycling,, But you can't just keep lowering calories, , the metabolism is more tricky then that

O damn cutting is complicated :p... I know a lot about gaining but evidently cutting is a dofferent story....

Kk how about if he drops 300 cals, i tell him to stay away from carvs for three days, load the fourth, and repeat... Like hes not wanting to get to get single digits or even 10% bf... Just looking for some helpful tips to adjust to his diet to be a healthier weight... Yea he doesnt do much moving lol

So something like 25carb/40pro/35fat day 1-3, 50/30/20 day 4, repeat?
