You're absolutely right. I need to find a way to eat more carbs when I start bulking again. It's hard enough to jam down what I'm doing now. And I'm guessing there may be some gluconeogenesis going on. It's working great for cutting while maintaining lbm.
 
Dropping your protein down to 450, and upping your carb intake to the same should help a LOT. Not to mention save you some cash in the long run. Protein is expensive compared to carbs on a gram to gram basis.
