New labs with Androgel 1.62

I just came back from the doc and the numbers are:

total testosterone : 489 (ref 241-827)
estradiol: 43 (ref < or = 39)

The estradiol was the regular one from Quest (I forgot to ask for the sensitive one). This test was my trough. I took it in the morning before putting on the gel or taking my hcg shot.

I use 2 pumps of Andrgel 1.62 and 250ui's of HCG on M-W-F.

I'm gonna bump up the hcg to 300iu's every M-W-F because I'm experiencing some shrinkage before my next HCG shot. Hopefully this resolves it.

My doc asked me if I wanted to bump up the Androgel to 3 pumps a day. I said to let me think about it because I'm worried about the estradiol.

What do you guys think? Also, any guesses as to what my peak would be?

For reference, my old numbers for total T were: 290 (241-827), 277 (241-827), 210 (270-1194) and 292 (348-1197)

Thanks

Wouldn't think peak would be that different when it's daily use. The real question on whether or not to add a pump is how you feel. Are you happy and without low t symptoms at your current level?

I came off injections and I know how it feels to be at a higher t level. I feel that a little more would help but I fear the estradiol. I don't want to bump it up and then the estradiol goes out of control.

Hey Cobra, I was up to 4 pumps of androgel 1.62, and my test is above 1000. I was like you worried about E2. I guess I worried too much, and drove my estradiol into the ground. Not fun, and I have been low a while. I was thinking my symptoms were from high E2. I must not convert that much test. I drove it low by not being consitent with arimidex. Intially told to do .5mg EOD. So now I am waiting for my E2 to rise to normal. Might only do .25mg once a week. Apparently, E2 is not a big issue with me. Wow, learning the hard way though. I stopped arimidex 4 days ago, and I am still too low, because I think I have been low for weeks!

PS, not feeling the full benefits of the good T number because the low E2 number. I haven't slept good in weeks, my libido is very low, and my knees hurt. I will not do this again. The trick is learning to read your body. Hey, it's taken me almost 8 months. The problem is, high E2 and low E2 have very similar sides. Just keep this in mind. Go with another pump. Be extremely careful with the arimidex! We are supposed to get into the upper third of the range to really start feeling better. You are not there yet.

may i ask why you got off injections and switched to gel?

I want the VA to manage all my care. I got tired of seeing one doctor a mile away, then another doctor 3 miles away and transferring records everywhere. Also, when I move, everything transfers with me between VA hospitals. It's basically easier for me to have them manage all of my care.

Now, my TRT doc was much better. He pretty much followed all the right things. He prescribed HCG and even got it approved through my insurance. He let me self inject, prescribed Deca and AI's, etc. he's a great doc.

I'm going to give the VA a shot. If it doesn't work out, I'll go back to injections and my TRT doc and deal with him and the VA only.
