NHL returning to Winnipeg

Apparently the Thrashers have been sold to a Winnipeg-based buyer.

Any opinions? Why did the city not succeed the first time? And will it be any different this time?

Wow. that's too bad for Atlanta. But great for Winnipeg. I'd like to see expansion not moves. I like to see 4 new teams in Canada and a few in the US and 3 in Europe.

I think Europe would be too expensive to travel to/from... but it would be pretty damn cool

They are priming the pump with europe doing exhibition games. Quebec needs a team. Salt lake city needs a team.

I don't like seeing NHL leave cities.

It is good for Winnipeg, but I agree about expansion.

Hamilton was mentioned and another Ontario city and Quebec could be a possiblity but than that's pretty much all there's room for..if even that.


But I will defintily make a trip out to Winnipeg and watch a game..

I'm guessing they will be named the Jets again? If they do go the Europe route..they will probably have to do a 3-4 game stint out there at a time.
