okay so I've been doing some research as well as taking classes on nutrition. its been discussed that low fat milk is a good lean protein source and full of vitamins.

taken from milkfacts.com -

"Milk contains the water soluble vitamins thiamin (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin B12 (cobalamin), vitamin C, and folate. Milk is a good source of thiamin, riboflavin and vitamin B12 . Milk contains small amounts of niacin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin C, and folate and is not considered a major source of these vitamins in the diet.

Milk contains the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. The content level of fat soluble vitamins in dairy products depends on the fat content of the product. Reduced fat (2% fat), lowfat (1% fat), and skim milk must be fortified with vitamin A to be nutritionally equivalent to whole milk. Fortification of all milk with vitamin D is voluntary. Milk contains small amounts of vitamins E and K and is not considered a major source of these vitamins in the diet."

it seems like a lot of people are misinformed and stay away from milk, possibly because of the "bloated" look that dairy can give.

my question is, is this because of the lactose? lactose is the main source of carbs (sugars) in milk.

apparently only 30% of grown adults can process and break down lactose, thus 70% of us experience some form of lactose intolerance. there are varying degrees of this which would cause the bloat, am i right?

so when it comes down to it, is milk not a good source of protein (mix of casein and whey) as well as vitamins? thus it would be a good recommendation for anyone trying to build muscle.

lets have a discussion!

bingo!! your on the money with that one...

look, its not that milk is BAD for you...

its the way that they process milk thats horrible.. hormones and the such.. u guys know what im talking about i dont need to post a fucking scientific link about this crap..

also the sugar vs protein content of milk isn't so good...

you get more carbs then protein in a cup of milk..

so yea, if your bulking and dont seem to be lactose intolerant then sure a cup or two doesn't hurt with whey or casein..

its those idiots that go out there and drink a gallon a day that worry me..

seriously?? a gallon a day? why not just go back to sucking on your mothers tit all day?? lol

i personally don't prescribe milk to my clients because of the reason in bold above..

you guys should look into almond milk.. yummmmm

well thats where i'm wondering... since the main source of carbs (sugar) is lactose and most people can't process it, wouldn't it just be excreted (for the majority of people) and you'd be left with a source of minimal fat, good protein and vitamins?

I know the processing is bad and the hormones that crossover cause bad shit to happen like supposed early maturity in females... but as far as the macro breakdown do you have an opinion on what happens inside the body as far as what is actually useable?

i know this is kind of assuming a lot like the level of lactose intolerance being high enough to make a difference in the processing of the milk in the body... maybe i'm over thinking this?
