NY Barbell equipment review

Strong as Lead
I just purchased a box for box squats from http://www.newyorkbarbells.tv/index.html.

Here is their link to said box...

As for my review: The MoFo is good and sturdy, nice solid construction and has adjustable height (though I wouldn't feel comfortable saying it could handle much over 500 lbs.). I like that it has two screws to tighten up tolerances so that the top doesn't tilt or have a wobbling problem. Usually on adjustable equipment where you have a square member inside another the slop is annoying but they solved that problem with the two screws in addition to the pins. The wide legs on the bottom make for a solid platform, no fear of tipping it. The box weighs only ~35 lbs. so it is light enough to carry to the gym when needed.

As for things I don't like: The top of the box is 1/2" plywood covered by thin rubber sheet, not as durable as I would like. The minimum height is not 10" as advertised, it is 13" (way to high for a little guy like me  ).

All in all it’s nice for those that don’t have the time or the energy to build a box, or want the adjustability provided by this one. Cost was $90 with shipping, shipped out the same day I ordered.

i wonder what the "suggested" limit is on it
i would imagine its meant for 1000+ lbs the legs are solid

ive seen mule go over 1k on box squats with the same piece of equipment from EFS and im pretty sure its teh exact same thing

Wood is cool, but its not adjustable. Which means I'd have to carry how many boxes to the gym? No thanks. A friend of mine has 2 in there though and he just leaves them there.
