what is the best method for opening glass amps?

finger nail file and a rag to keep from cutting yourself..file it all around a bit and snap it

Protip: I've always used a Bic style pen cover slipped over the tip of the amp to provide leverage, never had one shatter or had shards drop into the amp doing it that way.
