Optimal test levels for TRT?

Just curious what your ideas are on good safe levels to keep your test at. I saw on another board a guy who claims to be a nurse said that anything about 1000 will wreak havoc on the lipid profiles and that is something you do not want to mess up for good. Anybody have thoughts or opinions? Thanks.

38, 6'-3", 255lbs - I'll share my optimum level(s) when I find them... Been trying to get dailed in since I started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in Dec 2012. Started at 288TT, 67FT and 13e2 - felt like crap. No energy, no libido, etc. Was prescribed 200mg Test C/wk and 1,200iu HCG/wk. 6 weeks later was at 860TT, 271FT and 70e2. Big gains at the gym but otherwise felt bad due to high e2. Another 6 weeks and 1.25mg/wk Anastrozole later and was at 1,621TT, 665FT and 27e2. Felt like I could bench a mac truck at the gym, went through a week or so of outstanding libido but didn't last and the Aromatase inhibitor (AI) gave me a couple strange sides (frequent chest tightness and what felt like an extra heart beat every once and a while. Plus odd redness above and below my eyes). Reduced Test C dosage, dropped HCG completely and cut Aromatase inhibitor (AI) back to .5mg/wk for last 4 weeks. Just had new labs and waiting for results. Still don't feel like I'm in the "sweet spot" yet. Doc wants me between 800 & 1000. I want me where ever I feel the best (and is safe for long term use).

41, 6'-2", 215lbs- I don't know the answer to your question far as long term what levels our safest to run at....far as feel goes I feel better at the upper end then in the middle.....I'm currently cruising in the 1100-1200 range with my T and 23-27 E. I have had 3 blood tests while dialing in my protocol so far and they all came back good except my Hematocrit is at the upper end but donating blood helps keep it in check. Been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocol since Mar 2012.... so still kinda new.... need more time to know for sure if more tweaking is needed.

I also want to keep my levels around 900 or so with E around 26. I found that I only needed roughly 120mg test ew and adex and hcg the day after.

Others running higher doses on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) get their lipids checked with a clean diet and dramatically change there ration (one was down to 2.2), so with a diet the likes of a 3J diet your lipids won't go up and may get better. Donate every chance you get and monitor your blood pressure. I felt much better right under 1000 than I did at 1500+.

Just wondering about the T levels you guys are quoting. When did you have your lab test done in respect to when you inject? Was it in the middle of your "cycle"? Or on the day you normally inject? So for example, rowdybrad is injecting once a week and has a T of 900. When was that lab test taken during the week?

I am trying to gauge what people are aiming for. I just had my T tested again and it came back at 332. I was at 197 prior to starting treatment about two months ago. The lab test was on the day that I normally inject. I am doing 100 mg of Test Cyp once per week. No other meds. So if 332 is presumably my low point, what would my approximate high point likely be at this does and frequency?

I am going back to see my doctor next week. Do I need to start lobbying him for a higher dose?

BTW: I tried lobbying to test my estrogen levels as well, but he said it wasn't necessary. Would he be correct at this dose of Test Cyp?

It's just a guesstimate but you should be in the 700 range or slightly higher. I do injections every 5 days and my tests are down at the low point right before my next injection.

I will try to do 2xew injects of 50mg and try to keep from having to use an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) in the future. Cashout outlined some examples of that in the past.

Test level should be checked as close to possible of your next injection time.
