Hey guys, Im well educated in nutrition and what certain types of diets to follow at certain times. But I am in unchartered waters here, I injured myself and will be out of the gym for atleast the next 3 months. I have been following a high protein and low- medium carb diet but being out of the gym for the last 5 weeks i have drop 10lbs. So Im thinking a diet change, maybe decrease protein a little and add more carbs because my muscles aren't in need of repair just energy (carbs). What do you guys think?

Thanks for your time!

sorry to hear about your injury... unfortunatley you will keep losing mass. not much to do when you can't train. increasing carbs could help a little i guess but you might also add fat.. you need the energy from carbs more when you are training then when you are resting.

is there any training you can do to help keep your muscle at least in that area?

hi i would stick to the regular persons diet..i.e. 100 g protein, 300 g carbs, 25g quality fats

get well!

Damn=[ sorry to hear that. Never experienced that but all I can say is don't let urself get down. Ik it's hard to come back into training after something like this.

Thanks for all the info guys! Ill follow that "regular persons" diet lol maybe decrease carbs a little. Ecke70, na man I cant do any training, I have a sports hernia so any kinda of movement that involves flexing of the core is out, which is everything Im learning lol. Ya your right Littleguy, it was hard at first but now Im just fired up to get back in the gym so that wont be a problem.

Thanks again.
