Pec Problem

Ok guys, help me out. I’m having trouble developing my pecs around the clavicle area. What’s worse is that my chest is over shadowed by my shoulders (thank you, lateral raises!). I’ve been told numerous things: Use a wider grip on flat bench, do more incline bench work, one guy even told me to do more shoulder work. What do you guy think? Opinions please.

Without knowing exactly what you're doing for delts and pecs, I can't really tell you exactly what changes I think you should make. But making incline benches a priority over flat and decline benching would make sense in your chest training. Also, one of the best ways to really target the pecs for a finishing or pre-exhaust is by doing the bench presses on the cable pulley machine. Doing them in the middle of the cable pulleys allows a unique angle of resistance that can be beneficial towards increased load on the pectorals throughout the range of motion.

For your delt work, you could start shifting the focus from lateral raises to overhead pressing while making sure to do your overhead pressing with the barbell or dumbells *in front of the body.* This insures that load is kept on the clavicular pecs while still delivering training load to the front and side deltoids.
