Generally bacteriostatic water (if synonymous with BAC) is best/helpful to mix and measure peptide products - of course there are alternatives...
Do you have to use bacteriostatic anything? No ... but is it a good idea? YES. It keeps bacteria from growing in your vial and in the event your vial some how had some bacteria in it before hand the BAC properties should kill it. Otherwise you risk infection to your lab rat. Hope that helps.
