Proscar Question.

I've heard people mention proscar on this board and was wondering if anyone could point me to any info on why people take it?? I know it has something to do with preventing hair loss or is it growing hair back or ??? I tried to do a search on Yahoo about it and they kept refering to people with cancer etc. but it never really said what it did or why other people take it etc.? Any help would be grateful. Is it like or better than Propecia?? Thanks. peace.

It is the same as propecia i.e. finasteride, but propecia is a 1mg pill and proscar is a 5mg pill, so it works out much cheaper to get the proscar.

thanks alot for the insight. I am assuming they work much better than propecia being that proscar is 5mg.??? Does anyone know if you have to keep taking proscar for life or if you stop will your hairloss come back like propecia pills cause???

Yes, If you stop as I did even for a few days shedding is more prevelant.Once you go on you have to maintain daily required dose of 1,25 mg.Buy a pill splitter and cut the tabs in four .
