protein bars. Worth it or not?

I've been using various protein bars for years. I can hardly find a brand on the market that I haven't tried. Yet I like to eat clean, and I’ve examined many bars nutritional content and came to the conclusion that they are not that good.
What bars would you recommend, which ones are you using, and are they worth the price at all?

Protein bars are only worth it when you have no other options to feed your muscles. I take them when I fly or when I know that it would be next to impossible to mix a shake.

nothing is as good as a complete meal... but protein bars are excellent for a quick shot of protein espeacially if you are on the go !

They should not be a substitute for regular meals, and they are great for bulking. I really like Joyride and Triple Delicious protien bars, 30grams of protein. They are a good in between meal snack. Pricewise they are a rip-off, I am lucky my boss gives me boxes and boxes of them for free, so I can eat as many as I want without worrying about how much they cost.

I like tri-o-plex too, but they are pretty high in calories and sugar content, especially after the recent formula change, when they upped their calories/sugar content even higher.

I keep a few on hand for emergencies only. I like eating too much to consider a bar a meal. LOL! It's gone too quickly!

I buy the Detour bars. I haven't experimented much with the other brands because...well like I said, I only keep a few on hand in case I need 'em.

Met-Rx chocalate, and peanuts are good. I usually chase my cottage chesse down with a protein bar, because i could never eat cottage cheese alone.
